Absolutely gorgeous photo of Jason and Rohene at the ITNY gala in their Ladu Design costumes:

also a question. We know the story behind the Melancholy costume. Does anyone know if Rohene's costume has a particular inspiration (Perhaps Dinah Washington sang in a red dress) or just his amazing esthetic. The red skates:love2:

Too busy to explain the details of this interesting article about Jason, so I just quote a few sentences. He was interviewed when the ITNY honored him last week. It seems that Jason has clearly decided to keep competing next season.

"When I called my parents after the Beijing Olympic Games, they asked me crying, 'Is it really over (for you)?' At the time, I thought that was fine. Now I feel as if I finished one book and now I am writing a sequel."

Last season, he returned to Toronto to train several times, spending two weeks each time, including before the US Nationals.

"I did it this way on a trial basis this season and my coaches told me it was a success." I will not be able to compete for a full season, but will probably continue to do shows and compete at the same pace next season as I did this season. Maybe I will compete in a Senior B (CS-level) competition before the US Nationals to get ready, but I will discuss that with my coaches as well."

Thank you so much @YukiNieve. So good to have real rather than machine translation.

More competitive Jason next year, on his own terms?:party2:

I would definitely agree this season was a success. :hap10:
It was a huge success! It is great to know we'll be seeing him at competitions and that he'll continue to do shows. And since I can't make it to the SOI show this year, maybe there will be a chance next year. Nationals will be awesome!

Jason inspired Timothy LeDuc to perform a show to Melancholy:pray:

Timothy will be performing at a show in their hometown of Cedar Rapids.

On Saturday, LeDuc will be skating solo to a piece from “Fosse,” as well as “Melancholy” by Alexey Kosenko, which carries a personal significance.

“I was inspired by Jason Brown, my roommate at the Olympics, to use that piece of music,” LeDuc said. “It’s a piece of music he’s performed to many times and he’s one of my all-time favorite skaters, so I wanted to pay tribute to him and the ways he’s inspired my joy of skating."
