Jason Brown

I have seen only speculation/theorizing about what Max said he did or did not want.
We do not have any actual knowledge along those lines, do we? :confused2:

Hmm, I was fairly certain it was common knowledge that Team Max were concerned about his perceived "lack" of exposure to the international judges and the potential impact that may have on his marks. I may be confused, of course. ;)

If his primary goal this year is to solidify the quad, then I think Nepela made the most sense. It's not as high profile as Nebelhorn and he doesn't have to worry about defending his title.

This is probably the actual explanation, as it's the most logical.

So cute^^^

Another question more team KoRo than Jason, but I thought Miyu was only at 7k for the summer? Maybe the school year is different in Japan? (When I was a kid in the dark ages, *no* school started before Labor Day. now it seems they all do:rolleye:)

Google tells me:

The Japanese school year begins in April, not in September like in the United States and other countries. The first term runs to around July 20, when summer vacation begins. Kids return to school in early September for the second term, which lasts until about December 25.

bringing this from Team Japan thread
I heard that she used to go to a demanding high school so she had to concentrate on her studies more than skating but now that she's in university (e-school at Waseda!) she'll have more time for skating

Miyu was originally only supposed to spend 2 months here earlier in the summer (June/July). She enjoyed it so much she came back in August along with two of her coaches and about 7 other younger Japanese skaters. Her coaches and the other skaters went home a couple weeks ago but Miyu is staying a bit longer (I'm not sure how much longer) by herself.

She's competing at Lombardia Trophy in Milan, Italy later this month, so she'll move on before then?

Thanks for the update, Polenka, and to those earlier posters who explained the Japanese school schedule. Learning something new every day:cool:

I could not find a Fan Fest for Tyler Pierce, and since this is the unofficial 7k thread, it appears as though Tyler has left 7k (exchange with Jimmy Ma, miss you guys, etc.)

See also the thread about the Golden West competition.

Also, Hyena posted in the Mariah fan fest the Ice Network article identifying Mariah as a breakout female star, and all who said she would break out, also said training with Jason could only help.

But we knew that.

Maybe it would be a good idea to start a 7k / team KoRo fan fest thread for non-Jason things that come up.

I have thought about it and I do think it would serve a purposes and be a good thread. The issue I have is I am not sure i would want it to be the only coaching group that has their own thread in that manner. At the same time I kinda wish other coaches would market their skating home a bit more like how 7k does. I really enjoy some of the post 7k does of the group training showing the little ones and non-elites. Team Koro/7K is doing a good job of promoting themselves as their own entity which I think is a great idea and alot of fun.

It would be a good idea for 7k to have its own thread, and when I mentioned it in passing earlier on, I believe Doris said, great, you can start one, and I said I'm way too lazy (that is to do the OP listing with all sorts of 7k links? Yikes! I started one fan fest for a brand new ice dance couple that had one public video. That's the kind of page I like to start:rofl:)

So there is no GS objection, AFAIK, to starting a thread .... Heck, Team Mishin, Rafa or Orser could start one too!
