Much to my surprise I actually like snapchat, though I don't think I will use it for anything other than stuff like this. You get a really immediate picture of who someone is. Very different than the picture you get from a formal interview or a blog. Just sayin!

Stitch, I have been yelling at the kids on my lawn for 20 years now My sister snapchats back and forth with her kids. Me, when I want to see them, I see them, so no motivation there...

But with all the talk, thought I'd try Snapchat, come to discover .... My Apple ID is outdated and wrong (shows how often I download apps). Too bad, I love wild haired Jason, too much pain not enough gain.

Snapchat is like the No. 1 social media platform for teenagers, so usfsa would be reaching a key audience.

The temporary nature is perfect for teenagers. They don't want archiving. They just want to talk about what ever is on their mind at that moment.

@TMC so far just a clip of him getting up with wild hair - but it does show the truth - he really does wake up that bright and cheery! And then a clip on the way to airport.

ETA I agree it was almost too much to see him waking up like that!

Honestly Karne is such a stickler when it comes to stuff like this that I'm pretty sure she would have said something like - great progress but sadly it's still UR - instead of what she did say.

Yes, I still stand by that it was rotated, and I stand by that it was as nice as any I've seen from the King himself.

As for how the attempt is. First the landing.

Second one is definitely the landing and is definitely clean.

As for takeoff. Some people might lob out the accusation of "pre-rotation". I have not scrutinized other skaters to know how much is normal and how much is pushing the limits of acceptable. He does have some rotation after his toe pick hits and before he is fully off the ice, but I think it is within the norm.

If you were to watch a slo-mo of heyday Plushy to compare it would look very much the same. Minus the jazz hands.

I think the one on the left appears under-rotated, if that's determined to be the landing. The one on the right should be okay, even if a little close.

As mentioned, the video quality isn't good enough to see clearly. Unless they were really scrutinizing this one, I think it would pass... though an HD video from competition may show something different?

Totally. Snapchat got a reputation for the number of inappropriate photos being sent. But I would say the majority of teenagers like it because of it's quick messaging system. Teenagers text things like "idk" "nm" "what's up" and post photos, so snapchat is natural for that kind of messaging.

I see the logic like. A simple photo with some text like "What's up?" "Don't we look cute?" looks better to a teenager than a text stream of what's up, don't we look cute then a photo.

Some people may screenshot it and share it on other platform. Jason shared a snapchat photo he sent to some friends of some goats he encountered on the road once. I can't find it, but I remember it being something that was snapchatted.

Actually, that is what I thought it was started for, or originally marketed for. To take naked/semi-naked/sexy pic that you can send and "won't be stored!" early on people really liked that they could take pics like that that are not saved.... only it is rather easy to save them if you put any effort in it and how anyone could not have seen that from a mile away i really do not know.

Somehow, this app that was designed for sexting broke out into normal use... which makes the whole thing even funnier to me.

The false sense of privacy really bugs me about it. Nothing is ever truly gone, or at least should never be assumed as such. You want to share naked pics (obligatory as an adult) fine, but don't expect them to just suddenly not exist because you used a special app! Geez, I was raised in a family where i was taught to assume that film developers keep copies of sexy pics and to plan accordingly... the idea of expecting them to just go away due to snapchat is just weird.

I was thinking, I could travel to Bratislava just for one day to see him and also Mariah and Shibs, but this week and the next one I have so many tests in school that I can just study at home and at the same time watch ONT and JGP live. Maybe next year I will have a chance...

I don't know how you can handle that. I'm more nervous NOT watching - I had so much trouble sleeping through the Nebelhorn men's SP that I was actually dreaming about it, and every time the dream restarted, Max's result got progressively worse :hopelessness: (Probably why I was so happy to see the 83!).

Same here. In fact during the whole Nebelhorn Trophy/JGP Torun timespan, when I woke up in the mornings, I woke up like an hour before my alarm clock rand (either like 6:30 or perhaps 7:30 in the morning)and had dreams about skaters having poor results.

I'm excited! But I wish they'd put up the start order for the SP and I wish there was actually something on the Livestream right now (like practice) instead of just a message saying the live stream would be available starting today.

I am excited for today! In theory we should be getting practice reports which will say A LOT! If he is landing his quad like the clip we saw while in practice at a foreign rink...well that is going to set him up very nicely for the season. I suspect by days end we will have a better idea of where the quad really is... possibly even more so than after the SP.

Not on here yet, but they frequently show up. I would expect that if it was really really good or really really bad gossip would travel like wildfire. So no news is at least not bad.
