Jason Brown

But he hardly ever tweets/instagrams about training anyway. It's not like there was anything unusual about his posts, nor did he go into complete radio silence mode like Josh. And unlike Josh, he was never forced to stop training altogether, only have it scaled back. So it clearly wasn't a particularly severe injury, just something that required a few weeks of caution.

I hope he skates so well at Nationals...I wanted to see them, together, all three... :sad21:

I find it kind of funny that you assume Jason never stopped training. The fact that he spent two plus weeks in Chicago in late November / early December actually suggests the opposite to me. The real question is what he will look like in competition.

Of course, Stitch could always mosey on down to Monument for the 7K Nats send off next weekend. Maybe they will have a practice skate? Maybe Jason will skate? Hint. Hint. ;)

If it was in the AM I likely would, but I don't know if i can talk my better half into going down in the afternoon. And basically eating up all of Saturday and I would want to make him drive... still it is very tempting. I likely will check first thing Saturday morning and see if i can score a last minute hotel deal and pitch it as a weekend get away.

I will send both of you delicious chocolate if you go

TBF, it is scheduled at an awkward time, it's only an hour, and the announcement doesn't actually say Jason will skate... it might take a lot of chocolate to make the trip worthwhile.....

It does say autographs, though. I would love to see Jason's face if Stitch asked him to autograph a picture of her cat watching him skate (Riverdance?) and pawing the screen - I bet he'd get a big kick out of knowing he has feline fans. :)

Just sayin'.

Well, I'm sorry to say that the word on FSU is that Jason has not yet resumed training. Of course it's not official, but this poster is usually reliable.

I'm sad but not surprised.

I hope it's not true, too - but whatever happens, I'm betting that Jason will meet his challenges head on and make lemons into lemonade.

1st thought: Oh no - but not completely taken by surprise.

2nd thought: If he's forced to WD, I hope he decides to keep his FS next season. It never got the chance to be perfectly skater!

Oh dear, but I was sort of afraid of this, too. But if he is not 100% I think it is wise not to compete at all, I surely don't want him to have the same misfortune that Adian Pitkeev suffered in the Russian Nationals!!! His health should be the main concern first and the foremost. I trust Kori to make a wise decision, she is a prudent coach. I do strongly hope he will keep his Free for the next season, if that is the case. It is a beautiful programme and would love Jason to skate it to its full potential when he is 100%!!

Silver lining: He will receive an invite to Challenge Cup in Spokane and should be recovered by then...since that's not for another three months.

Well, it's official.

"Words cannot describe how deeply disappointed I am to be unable to compete at the U.S. championships and go for another title," Brown said. "I was trying really hard to push through for nationals, but my back pain flared up again during training. Under my doctors' orders, I have shut down all training in order to allow my body to heal completely. With rest, treatment and physical therapy, my doctors expect my full recovery. I look forward to competing again as soon as I possibly can."

:( I hope he gets better ASAP.

I just saw on twitter.....my heart just sank.....I'm so sad right now.....

But I'm sure it's what's best for him. Don't want any lingering injuries or an even worse injury to arise.

I'm sorry to hear this. I was looking forward to seeing him at US Nats too. Yes, get well soon!

Too bad for Jason

It's smart not to push it and keep the future in mind. You just never know...sometimes a little break can give a renewed energy and a fresh feel for skating. Hoping this works to his advantage in the long run.

On the positive side we can also give rest to the drama and rumors going round lately.

Get better Jason

:sad21::sad21::sad21:

Hoping for a speedy recovery, and for a carry over of this year's programs (assuming they did not cause the problems:() to next year. Great Gatsby cannot stop here!:drama:
