Jason Brown

The horror. People are already crucifying Jason and he hasn't even been named to the team. I personally think they will just send the top 3, but I guess we'll see.

I am fine with the 4CCs/Worlds team being Adam, Max, and Nathan. But this is mainly because I want any injured skater to be 100% healthy when they come back. I don't want Jason's back problems to turn into something worse.

But can you imagine how much more awesome this Nationals would have been if Jason and Joshua was able to compete and skate well here? Looking at how they were scored last year, if I were them, I would be encouraged that they would still be competitive next season.

I just hope that Jason is keeping positive thoughts about all of this.

Folks on Twitter are just losing their minds....it seems that for every congratulatory message about Adam they have to add another blaming Jason for whatever they imagine will happen/happened last year. Even Johnny Weir is saying that it's Jason's "fault" that Adam won.

Unbelievable. I've just about had enough :(

I'll say something here. I'm happy for Adam and it's ridiculous to say that Adam won because of Jason. Jason wasn't even there! They need to not blame Jason. It's not his fault. It's quality PLUS quantity. Those two go together.

Now, for Jason. I wish he was able to compete at nationals and go to Worlds. I do. I honestly do. But with the top 3 that were on the podium today....I don't know....it wouldn't be fair to any of them.....plus I rather have Jason wait and have his back completely healed for next season.

Hunh. I missed it. How did Johnny blame Jason?

Seriously though, I can't imagine them pulling Max or Nathan. Nathan did 4 quads. Pretty sure they will send him and perhaps name Jason the alternate.

The good news is that it sounds like Jason is much better and that if nothing else he'll debut the new SP at the Team Challenge cup.

They let Adam win to get Jason on the World team.

Don't ask me where the logic is in that...

I think I know what they're saying (even if it is illogical), and I don't like what it adds up to.

One veteran (Adam). One quadmeister newbie (Chen). And Jason.

Nah. We will know soon, but if they put Jason Brown on the Worlds team, it's Nathan that will be chacked and go to Junior Worlds.

I just listened to the TSL live feed - they had Christine Brennan on. Fascinating.

Even she thinks Jason will go tho all of them think Nathan should. I am mystified.

Well....no Jason. But it's for the best. It's better to have him recover from the back strain. Don't want to have any back problems later on. Heck I have a back problem still....well it's more of anatomy not activity....scoliosis to be exact.

Brief TSL interview with Kori with a fair amount of stuff about Jason, and a lot of bluntness. I like how she flat out admits there is no way to "package" Jason being there, which is a factor.

Also he is getting a new SP.... which she claims she does not know the music to (I wonder if she does know know the name but has heard it) but seems happy with. She said the other had too much quick twisting in it. Overall things sound good.

Thx for the summary, Stitch. Without having listened to the interview, here's my completely unsupported speculation: trouble in 7k paradise. Rohene loves all the many steps in the SP choreo and won't redo it. Blames the quad for Jason's injury. Kori sees the SP itself as the issue. In the end, Kori wins.

And I cannot believe the vitriol directed to Jason, *who wasn't even skating*, in the US men's LP thread. Sheesh, some skaters I want to try to understand and like, but their fans make me mental.....::slink:

Well, hopefully the people who want to bicker about Jason's petition can calm down now.

And we can enjoy how well Team USA does at 4CCs and Worlds while my #TeamInfirmary (Jason, Joshua, Ricky, and Jordan) can relax, work on 100% recovery, and coming back next season better than ever.

I would like to see their announcement. I am pretty surprised he wasn't even named an alternate. That's a bit like saying Jason boy, thanks for keeping us going but we don't need you now. We've got Adam, Grant and Alex Johnson to cover the quadless artsy guy role so you're surplus.

I guess it's something about Jason. Last year he got so much garbage thrown on him and that started when Adam won, but very quickly switched to anti Jason outrage.

I don't see it that way at all. I think if they petitioned, it would be all or nothing. I don't think USFS was sending any message.

Yeah, I will say that I was mystified that Jason wasn't at least given the "alternate" spot as recognition. I'm wondering if something behind the scenes is going on politically (like with Kori Ade?) But today has been one of the weirdest days in U.S. Men's figure skating ever.

Jason gets to go to the Challenge Cup which is a new fun event... And more importantly up to 10k cash...for himself! I don't feel too sorry for him.

Well since he petitioned, he probably cares though. I'm not sure about the rules for medical byes but I don't understand why it would be an all or nothing acceptance or rejection.
