I'm Jewish as well and I really don't keep kosher (oops)...yeah I love spam too much. But I don't eat shellfish and I fast on Yom Kippur.

Seriously? I've never read those three words in that order before, in my life. Nor heard them uttered, LOL! But hey, I like canned tomato soup.:) We like what we like.

How funny - I love everything with tomatoes including sauces with one exception: I cannot ABIDE tomato soup - it's one of the great mysteries of my life!

Spam musubi is awesome though! I generally don't eat spam, but I will eat that.

What is that?

I don't know what spam musambi is, spam musibi<?> I think, is all over Hawaii. Hawaiian fusion cuisine:laugh: And as wonderful as Hawaii is, don't let anyone mislead you, the four major food groups are starch, starch, starch and spam. What folks who live there eat:disapp:

Makes me glad to be vegetarian, of all the meat analogs that exist, I have never seen vegetarian spam ;)

:hijacked:

There is a Hawaiian spam dish we used to eat occasionally: a stir fry of bamboo shoots, water chesnuts and Spam, yes with soy sauce and regular stir fry spicing.

Okay more important than tomato soup and spam, Jason is still on the TCC list!

The only blot is the extra $9.99 IN is trying to charge us IN subscribers. Legally I don't think they have a leg to stand on - you can't just unilaterally decide after the fact to exclude it from the season pass where it is listed as included, especially when it was announced last May, well before season passes were renewed - am I right El Henry???????

Ugh this Icenetwork thing is such a farce...I got the email and paid without blinking, because I was all "Jason's new SP? Take my money already!" But then I saw on here that it was supposed to be included, and lo and behold so it was listed on their own stupid website. Someone on here said that IN told them it was a mistake. I then sent IN a semi-scathing email asking for my money back, only to come back to find different reports saying that it wasn't a mistake after all. I'm so confused.

:agree:

But what passes for planning or consideration in Ice Network management is like the peace of God: it surpasses all human understanding.

If I were completely cynical, I would say they did the cost benefit analysis that breaking a contract with figure skating fans wasn't worth what they would get in return by eliciting the extra $10, since no one will file a class action, or go to small claims and collect, over $10. But there are a lot of unemployed private practitioners out there ;)

If it wasn't for Jason's new SP.....

This is what I got just now:

Thank you for contacting Ice Network. We appreciate the time that you have taken to write, and welcome the opportunity to respond.

We sincerely apologize for the confusion but please advise if you would like to watch the Team Challenge Cup, as this event is not included with your season pass.

Please let us know if you would still like to be refunded for that charge instead because we can promptly take this step if this is your preference.

Thank you again for your patience, and for taking the time to write!

Regards,

IceNetwork.com Customer Support

I replied asking for an explanation of how this is possible and if it's good enough they can keep my money. If it wasn't for Jason's SP...

I am waiting to hear back from USFS. If they say I have pay I will - but I will then file a class action on behalf of all of us. This is basic contract law!

Would you really? Wow, I'm so impressed. I take my hat off to you :)
Can I be involved even though I'm a foreign subject?

I'm so torn...10 bucks is not too much to pay for seeing Jason after all these weeks, but the principle of the thing makes me want to ask for a refund. I didn't know I had principles! :palmf:

I wrote to IN: "If you can convince me that what you are doing is completely above board, contractually speaking, I'll be happy to give you my money. Please advise." :rofl2:

After reviewing their terms and conditions I'm starting to think they may get away with it because they gave themselves a big old out that says essentially: we can do whatever we want, whenever we want, without telling you, and you can't stop us, nyah, nyah! :(

But I just thought of something: Jason will be skating in Ice Chips in Boston exactly one week from today! I don't think there's a live broadcast, but perhaps someone who attends will put a clip up on YouTube. Normally I would expect he'd do his show program, but perhaps he'll debut the new SP too?

We can only hope!

Yes, anyone attending the show that will post a vid has my:agree:

I hope, if they are from out of town, they know someone in the hospitality industry. I can't imagine getting a hotel in Boston on marathon weekend....

Ugh really? Someone in some other thread or maybe another forum said that there isn't anything in the conditions that would let them do that. This is so infuriating.

And we all know I'm going to pay anyway, who am I kidding? It's JASON :hap93:

Was that me (same user name essentially)? Because before I actually looked at the T&C, which are well-hidden, just based on general contract law principles I didn't think they could do it. Now I'm not so sure. I'm still awaiting responses from USFS & IN, so I'm going to hold tight for a bit. I'll keep you posted.

Anyway back on topic, I am so looking forward to seeing Jason skate again! There are only so many times I can watch an old YouTube clip without going batty, even when it's Jason. And like all of us I am totally curious about the new SP. Will Rohene give him something a little more mature? I really hope so, but I'm not holding my breath! Rohene's programs always have at least flashes of brilliance, and frequently more than just flashes - but I confess that neither SP for the past two years has really grabbed me. Although @el Henry will be happy to hear that Juke has grown on me a bit!

One thing I did notice in watching clips is that Jason's flow over the ice really has improved in his current free skate (versus a few years ago) - so I'm really looking forward to seeing where he's at with that program, too.

Somewhere he said that as part of his PT he's learning how to hold himself - was that in the Nick M article? I'll be interested to see what that means. His body seems to have changed a fair bit since he was 16-18, so perhaps he's had to be aware of some of those changes in PT. Anyway, blah blah - I have to go clean my refrigerator right now. Which I am NOT looking forward to! :roll9:

What?! :jaw:

I've been traveling for a couple days and completely missed this IceNetwork TCC stuff. Absolutely no way am I paying an extra ten dollars for ONE competition that will be fun, but of almost no importance to the overall season. I want to see Jason too, but this time YouTube will have to suffice. And this news makes me FAR less likely to keep my subscription for next year. I can tolerate subpar customer service and problems with their streams because I like knowing there's a legal stream available to me no matter what, but this kind of bait-and-switch stuff may be too much for me.

I was watching the men's free skate from 2013 Nationals on Sunday (part of my jet lag recovery) and this struck me, also. Jason was very youthful-looking then, still a baby physically, even though Josh already looked much more adult in build, and I also noticed that Jason was very slow and also that his jumps were very small. After I was done I went to Youtube to confirm my suspicions. His body is a considerably different shape now, and he jumps much bigger, and he skates much faster. So clearly our Jason is a bit of a late bloomer.

(Aside: Jason wasn't the only one who looked so different. Holy hang Max was such a baby! Much leaner, much more wild, much more raw. Anyone who denies the improvements Max has made should be forced to go and watch that WSS again...)
