Good emo is still emo. But good is still good even if emo.

Maybe next year can be opposite year.

Josh can skate to something as up beat as Barbie Girl.

Max can skate to Freddie Mercury and be covered in glitter

I have no idea what "opposite" for Dornbush would be... nothing could shock me with him.

Adam can borrow Max's wardrobe since they are such good friends now... maybe he can be a Gladiator next year.
 
Are we thinking this is his new SP, then? It's not even close to the best of the Whiny Guys songs he could have chosen. But I suppose it could be worse...he DID need a break from the high-energy, smiley short programs.

Ugh I dislike Sam Smith so much. But I'll reserve judgment until I see it in Spokane. (We don't know for sure it's his SP right?)

We don't know for sure, but i question if he would be working on two show pieces on top of everything else right now. So i would guess at least one is his new SP.... and the other has cartwheels in it...so if that is the SP... it is a very well disguised. I want to see the disco number personally.

It appears a bit long for an SP... so some kinda of show version if it is a SP. It also has rolling around on the ice.

Opens with a 3T... so maybe a 4T placeholder? Later a 3Z no combo, bu still if he is going for a 3Z+3T in the second half to eek out a few extra tenths of points, good for him.

I want to see the disco number.
 
Maybe both the disco number and the SS Emo one are EX versions of potential SPs and they are deciding based on reception...
 
Well, I saw it first on FSU, where it was just identified as "Writings on the Wall" and I had no idea what that was, and watched in silence,now I learn it's a whiny white guy (did Jeremy skate to this guy?):sad21:

And I am sorry, Stitch, from your other posts, but I haaaate Queen and Bohemian Rhapsody most of all ( and I was around when they first came out and were played on gasp, FM radio :laugh:) so I'd rather have WWG.

Jason's back! :hap93:

That was my reaction when I watched the videos. I dislike whiny white guy singing as much as the next person, but I liked everything else about this performance. He looked so mature out there and I liked the understated outfit. If he and his team want to show a completely different side from the happy go-lucky Jason we've seen the last few years this program fulfills that.

Being a greedy fan, of course I want to see the disco program too. There are still two more Ice Chips shows to go and hopefully someone will film it.
 
I am wondering if this might be the beginning of a new long program. A lot of the choreography is similar to the piano - lots of flowing edges and circular patterns, the hydroblades, the spirals. But there aren't enough jumps for a FS. So.

ETA: in TSL Worlds recap, Dave let slip that coach Vincent is now working with Tammy Gambill. I didn't find any public confirmation except for this info about a 2-day program:

I did think the Sam Smith looked a lot like the Piano, I'm glad it wasn't just me. Someone on Twitter called it a "show" piece, but I can't remember who nor do I know what that means.

Re: Coach Vincent. He did change his Instagram handle to drop the 7k. Hmmmm..... I can see why people love conspiracies, I love connecting dots.;) as far as I can tell, Zit hasn't broken up the lovebirds Mariah and Romain, because Romain is still at 7k per Kori's tweets....
 
Ha ha - Katmari I also saw that, but I couldn't remember if he was listed before.

I'm glad that both you and el Henry also were reminded of the piano! I really can't see him using both this program and the piano in the same season; they seem designed to showcase the same things - deeper emotion, maturity, and beautiful flow and line. I actually like this music better, emo though it may be... :slink: And I love the Ina Bauer - he has done them before but usually as transitions, so they're more perfunctory. It will be interesting to see what happens with it, whether it is a new short, new long, or something else entirely!

Amusing to see that Rohene has apparently acquiesced to lyrics.
