Jason Brown

The mystery thickens... What will Jason show up with at TCC?

Meanwhile, count me in among those who... liked it. And I'll take this over the Piano as well - at least it doesn't seem so... depressingly droningly meandering on its slow way to nowhere. (I haven't wanted to say anything about it, as I know lots of people love the Piano program... And also let me emphasise that I am talking about the music - not Jason's skating!)

And count me in among those who are clamouring for the disco number as well.:)

I did see a name on the staff page I didn't recognize (Cecily Morrow) and looked her up on google. Her website states:

In June 2016, Cecily joins forces with Kori Ade, Olympic coach of Jason Brown, team teaching with Kori at the 7k International Skating Academy in Monument, Colorado. Coaches, skaters, and parents may consult Cecily for on-ice and off-ice lessons via Skype or FaceTime.

It looks like she may be replacing Vincent?

It appears she has some major chops:

Her linked in describes her as a jump and spin specialist. Manleywoman and skateguard have both done interviews with her.

If the quad specialist is gone, what does that mean for Jason and Jordan's quads?

I don't understand how this is a discussion. He's allowed to have two show numbers, right?

He will do the Piano at TCC. We will see the new SP there. As I understand it this whiny song is too long for an SP. So I doubt it's the new SP.

Blergh, whiny whiny whiny, Jason, no whiny songs! You've been hanging out with Josh too much!

@crossingthefingers' Twitter feed says that Shazam of the "disco" song led to the conclusion it was Jamiroquai? canned heat?

Never heard of it, not 70s.:noshake: If anyone out there knows 70's RnB, will I like this?

Jason can do as many show tunes ETA: (as in skates, not Broadway) as Jason wants. I do think a WWG SP and Piano LP is too much emoting, but what do I know? I like Juke. ;)

Canned Heat. More Acid Jazz than disco... but i would still love it.

I think it makes up for Emo... my better half is not convinced yet. I love Jamiroquai... plus he is known for his dancing/moving so it is bold to skate to him... Jason can pull it off. I would be thrilled with this as an SP...and I think it would be perfect. Uptemp but not really happy... more pent up energy. I like it for him. I hope it is true.

Jamiroquai - Canned Heat

It was released in 1999 but it definitely has a throwback disco sound.

As far as what his SP & FS are for TCC, we'll all see next week. (I do think it's fun to speculate about possibilities.) Until then, new Jason outfits & performances to discuss! :hap57:

Wow, I didn't know Canned Heat, but that is a find, and it's a throwback sound, whatever you call it ... we would have boogied down to that, back in the day. (Then again, it's 20 years old already, just new to me:laugh:)

I would *looove* to see Rohene's choreo to that. More video please! And I like the faux-Hawaiian shirt. And the all-black. Which of course will be subject to the Rohene dazzler gun...

Ha ha I prefer the emo! This is just a short clip, but I would be really surprised if it was anything but a show program. It's a bit like the MC Hammer program to me - fun, cute and showy but a bit one note. :slink:

I love the Canned Heat song. It's probably Jamirquai's second best song (behind Virtual Insanity of course, which still sounds really good IMO). For years I thought it could be a killer show program lol. Though the choreography there isn't quite what I had in mind.

Virtual Insanity FTW!!!!!!!!!!

That video is still next level! :dance3:

Wait what? Vincent left 7k? What is going on there....he seemed SO happy there, this feels very sudden :(

ETA This is making me surprisingly sad :(

Given the moves, "Disco Jason" has to be an Exh, I fear. The belly flops will get negative GOE.;)

I also am for some reason sad about Coach Vincent. When I saw he changed his Instagram, I thought, oh well, but he's not like a Canadian ice dancer I follow, Asher Hill, who changes his name every week. Coach Vincent actually changed his underlying handle. I'm also wondering, knowing absolutely nothing about anything, how I should feel about Tammy Gambill. First Tyler leaves and throws teenage shade at 7k, and now this:scratch2:

Back to happy: not one, but two Jason programs! Woot!:dance3:
