Jason Brown

Jamiroquai - Canned Heat

It was released in 1999 but it definitely has a throwback disco sound.

:otopic: Ahhhhhhh Jamiroquai! This song is in my 'university years top 10' (along with such classics as The Sunscreen Song by Baz Luhrmann, As (cover) by George Michael Ft. Mary J Blige, Praise You by Fatboy Slim, and absolutely everything by The Corrs)

Seriously these four songs and all the songs The Corrs ever released were all that I listened to for 4 years :laugh2:

Given the moves, "Disco Jason" has to be an Exh, I fear. The belly flops will get negative GOE.;)

Wasn't there a belly flop in the Sam Smith prog as well? I'm not a fan..it bothers me when the skater is wearing black and I can't stop staring at the snow for the rest of the skate :slink:

I also am for some reason sad about Coach Vincent. When I saw he changed his Instagram, I thought, oh well, but he's not like a Canadian ice dancer I follow, Asher Hill, who changes his name every week. Coach Vincent actually changed his underlying handle. I'm also wondering, knowing absolutely nothing about anything, how I should feel about Tammy Gambill. First Tyler leaves and throws teenage shade at 7k, and now this:scratch2:

I don't know...wasn't Tyler Tammy's student before she went to Kori for a while? I hesitate to say that this has anything to do with her, really. I do know that I didn't appreciate Tyler's comments, but then I remember watching Kori's TSL and thinking, if I were Tyler, I would not appreciate what she is saying about me. So I was not surprised that she left. Not that what Kori said was bad, I just wouldn't like to be discussed like that, especially not on TSL.

Could also be just the fact that since Vincent started there, 2 of Kori's top students have been injured training quads, one quite seriously. So I can see how Kori could have thought that the investment didn't pay in the end and suggested a new direction for Vincent? And then it's only a matter of a quick call to a former student's current coach and here we are. Eh, this is all just what could have been.

Errgh that disco program! I admit, though, that those belly flops are hysterical and you can see that he has a ton of fun with it.

I like the emo outfit, but I think both the shirt and trousers would be more flattering in matte (not shiny) fabrics. Hair is about Riverdance level - darker than his natural but not piano-level black - looks good to me. Total effect is still a bit Rohene, but I think it's true to Jason also. I seem to recall him once saying he loves black clothes. So. My biggest thought: He looks amazingly grown up in that outfit, especially if you think back to the 16-year old Jason performing Turandot in Greensboro. If this is the precursor to a competitive program, let's just hope the costume doesn't end up with lace, fishnet or sheer mesh! Given Adam's shirts last year, I could totally see Rohene pushing for black mesh. No! No!

ETA the emo outfit could almost be from Gucci's 1995 collection, the one where Tom Ford first made a splash.

300 % agree about sheer and mesh^^^

These young men are trained elite athletes. They are also slender, not bulked up, and in some instances have narrow shoulders and a sheer look is NOT flattering:scowl: I like Adam, but his tops look like my blouses. Does he really want to look like a woman of a certain age on cruise semi-formal night?

Please, Jason, no!

Well thank you for making me laugh so hard that tears literally squirted out of my eyes and onto my lenses...now I have to go find my lens cleaner

Do I recall some people disliking the flesh-toned panels added to v-neck necklines for modesty? It's hard to tell from this picture, but at first glance I didn't notice one in the emo outfit.

El Henry, your comment regarding women of a certain age on cruise semi formal nights is possibly one of the best things I've ever read on any forum - I would give you 30 likes if I could!

Thanks, TMC and Tavi, but I really do have blouses like that. Adam and the other mesh-wearers could buy some cheap:biggrin:

And George Michael covered "As"? well, why not? But the Stevie Wonder version was on my college playlist. ;) And I understand that Chock/Bates are skating to the sunglasses song at SOI....

I wish Jason were in SOI:sad21:

I didn't really care about George, but Mary J was awe-some!

I wish Jason were in SOI, too :(

Great find! :)

According to the listen search on my phone, the music is Secret Garden - Appassionata

Ahh thanks! I didn't even try to Shazam it because I thought it wasn't long enough :)

ETA: These weren't my find, an elf or some other off-season assistant of Santa's dropped them off in my Messenger inbox this morning ;)

Curiouser and curiouser. Here we have footwork and a headless spin. In Writing's on the Wall we have a program with a couple of jumps, a couple of spins, including a headless one, some intricate choreography, but no footwork. Both pieces of music are about the right length for a free skate. Is Writing's on the Wall simply, as Karne said, a second show program? Is one a new short and the other a new long, or are they two different tries at a new FS? :scratch2:

Inquiring minds want to know - and can't wait til April 22! :)

So happy to know that he will keep the FS for the next season!!! That is a masterpiece and deserves to be perfected. I can almost picture him floating around to "Appassionata", it is going to be beautiful (though I would have prefered a little more contrast to the FS, but if the upbeat music puts a strain on his back, well I can live with that, no problem... :agree: )
