Jason Brown

It's actually pretty funny isn't it? I'd like to see what he could do with Prince now.

I'd really like to see something really Latin or in a similar vein to Prince. He's old enough now, his body has developed enough now, he can absolutely move. But my guess is that they'll hold back on that a little longer...

Yeah I've been hoping for Latin - but not tango or flamenco - for a long time. Maybe next season. He really is a great dancer. It will be interesting to see where they go with both new programs next year. This FS has really done a great job of both showcasing his beautiful line and pretty good skating skills and allowing him to express a different, more mature side of himself. I hope they build on that carefully and don't go back to a busier, "cuter" style.

I could totally see Jason doing something Latin and really selling it! :)

IMHO Jason seems to have developed that casual elegance of movement that so many skaters and dancers aspire to but never achieve.. he seems to have a natural gift for it. Johnny Depp, though not a skater/dancer, has it too - a kind of masculine grace that transcends artistic performance (ie, SS, etc) and permeates daily life as well. I think Rohene has seen this in Jason. Hope he will continue to capitalize on and enhance this in future programs/music. No male skater at the GPF (with the exception of Javi, and Patrick to a lesser extent) even came close to that kind of elegance.

I agree! Patrick has beautiful edges and his blade work can be jaw dropping; I do think he's improved his upper body movement a lot and I'm interested to see where he goes next. I've also been really impressed with Javi's grace and elegance this year, even when he makes mistakes, but I do think Jason is as good as or even better than Javi in that way. He's a real dancer as well as a skater, and his work with Frank has really given new clarity and precision to his movement and line.

yes I agree Jason has a lot of dancing ability and rythrem. as well as being a great skater. he has a lot of talent. and Jason has that special somethimg I don't know what you call it star quality maby.he just has it all over.it just draws you too him. and commands you too watch. his performances catch me every time I watch him perform. he has somethimg special. Jason is why I got back in too figure skating. I love it so much.

OK, that's why all the Japanese fans are tweeting HBD Jason *now* ...

Speaking of which, has anyone seen the screen grabs on Twitter from Japanese fans of Jason in white with a female skater in white? Is that maybe Kostner (don't laugh, I couldn't identify many ladies for a million dollar prize:biggrin:). And is that from The Ice? He looks like he is having a blast, I would love too see that routine. Any ideas?

I think that is Kostner. Usually she towers over people, but I guess she would be about same height as Jason.

Kostner definitely skated at The Ice, but I haven't seen the Twitter. I remember seeing her in photos on the day they all went sightseeing in Japan.

^Well, 21 was kind of a rough year. He was injured, missed US Nats, 4CC and Worlds, changed SPs twice, and while he had a good TCC and SkAm result, he also had a terrible skate at NHK. Here's to 22 being better!

Jason's own thoughts on 22 versus 21 - sounds like he's glad to move on!

Happy Birthday to Jason :hb:.

Just my two cents, but I'm not sure the tweet is meant to have too much of an introspective angle.

If he had dug up an old photo of just quietly chillin' with the recovery pants, I would be more likely to feel a serious undertone to the tweet.

But to me, it's more like Jordan and he are just hammin' it up :) -- making the recovery pants look even goofier than they already are -- as they anticipate celebrating his birthday :dance2:.

Just my two cents.

FWIW, Jason even tagged @ntrecovery on his corresponding Instagram:

For fun, I tried to go looking for the first Jason video I ever watched. Only, I can't quite remember...

So this is the video where I thought for the first time, "Wow, you really have something...". Pretty sure this was about the tenth time Jason popped up in recommendations while I was watching Joshua videos. Just a few days before he turned seventeen. How time has flown and how he's grown...

(And oh bless, he actually has a good costume on here.)

Thank you for posting this video. I don't remember seeing this performance. It certainly showcases his early talent.
