.... Brown is in good spirits heading into the holidays. After an injury-riddled 2015-16 season, he's shown good form this year, finishing first at the U.S. International Classic and second at Skate America. ...

... While the holidays provide a nice break from his rigorous training regimen, Brown remains completely focused on the task at hand.
"I'm gearing up for the U.S. shampionships, so I'm in the best position and the best shape that I can be leading into the second half of the season," Brown said. "Every year brings new challenges, new successes, great moments and tough moments. What I've learned coming back from an injury is you've really got to focus on moving forward.

.... I'm excited to go to Kansas City."

The article mostly is nice fluff about the Brown family and Hanukkah.
It has no explicit mention of NHK.
(And no mention of Jason's birthday.)

Love the Twitter Happy Birthday messages from the Jason fans, particularly the fan art and the arts and crafts.

I am hopeless at posting tweets, but one person had needlepoint Jason's. As someone who failed sewing in 8th grade, I was impressed.:agree:

Also one of the Bing translates had "Happy Birthday, No need to be married to be happy" (or close enough) I think something was definitely lost in that translation:biggrin:

Happy Birthday, Jason:hb:

The way he just floats effortlessly up into that Russian split :luv17:  :luv17:

Also, with his hair tucked back like that, in his training gear...wow, where did that gawky gangly kid go, and when did this beautiful young man replace him?

LOVE his Russian split! He's such a beautiful skater.

I wonder if he will check in with Frank Carroll before Nats. I hope he does - the very detailed approach seems like a good complement to his work with Kori.

BTW I was tempted to go down to Monument on Friday for the holiday show, but the snow and the forecast low of -6 changed my mind. Another time when it's warmer.

Mountain dwellers are much heartier than this East Coaster: with minus 6 and snow, Jason would need to be in my backyard, and I'm not sure I'd make it even then:laugh:

That was really cute! My daughter trying to learn her letters -- right now she says "E" and "R" and "D" a lot. This is great because her name has three E and an R in it, LOL.
