Jason Brown

I'm not surprised that he didn't get SA - I was actually pretty sure he wouldn't. But it looks like his chances at GPF are pretty slim - he faces Patrick and Shoma in Canada and Patrick and Yuzuru (not to mention Josh and Adam) at NHK.

I actually don't think beating Patrick is out of the realm of possibility anymore, especially if his programmes are as great as they were last season. Patrick would need to help him along a bit, but he's not the most consistent skater, whereas a healthy Jason pretty much is :)

I, for one, am happy to see Jason come up and visit us here for his first SC trip. Looking forward to it.

So happy that Jason got SC. I hope to make the trip to our dear northern neighbor. Looks like a great line up for SC. I didn't think he would get SA after having been there for 3 years in a row.

Well... maybe. But Jason's consistency will depend in part on where he is with his quads. Patrick already has a 4T combo in the SP, and he landed 2/3 quads (including 4S) in his FS. Also, I think it would take a lot for anyone to beat Patrick at Skate Canada.

Time will tell, I guess!

I am actually.... but 500 dollars is a bit out of reach. It's a 12 hour drive for me though, and not one I'd care to make in November.

And unlike the rest of Canada, there really isn't any U.S. airport nearby you can fly into instead.

Does it make any difference that it's late October? :)

It's a 13-hr drive for me. If it were a month earlier, I might consider driving. Dh loves road trips and we haven't been further north than Devil's Tower.

Yeah the weather would be absolutely terrible this time of year. And Canada's highways are way smaller than our interstates, so yeah...not a place you want to be caught in a snowstorm, LOL>

Well well well....

Don't know if I feel upset that SA "snubbed" Jason, but it will make me feel less guilty about snubbing SA. And Saskatchewan would be quite the road trip from Eastern Pennsylvania, snow or no snow, so not gonna happen....

But do I wish I had a Star Trek, teleporter, tons of money, and connections to get NHK tickets:drama: you bet I do! Not just Jason, but the rest of the men's lineup. :luv17: Of course, no surprise that NHK wants Jason, even if it means stiffer competition for him....

Am I the only Jason fan not one bit upset about the lack of SkAm? I'm over the moon he's not going to be at SkAm, I'm sick of hearing the snide "overscoring" remarks.

MOST IMPORTANTLY, he got NHK. That is the big most important one because it establishes him for years.

great news good luck too Jason in his up coming events for this coming season! and lets hope he stays healthy and injury free fingers crossed.:hap10:

Karne, just curious - what do you mean about NHK establishing him for years?

Japan is where the show money is. He ensconces himself as a favourite of the Japanese fans, there's every chance that could set him up beautifully for a post-competitive show career. It's competitive, everyone wants to get in on the Japan money, but he's already in a fairly good way to be one of the chosen ones, and I'd like to see it converted.

Ah okay, thanks for clarifying! I'm sure you're right about the opportunity and I'm equally sure he's probably thrilled to go, but quite honestly I worry a little: he's had terrible luck with NHK the past two years and the field this year is quite tough. But. Hopefully he will stay healthy and will do well.

JSF invites people who they think the audience wants, so it speaks to Jason's popularity there that he keeps getting invited back.

Congrats to Rohene! Well deserved. :2thumbs:

I see Rohene dressed up for the occasion. ;)

:laugh2:

I just have to comment, on this too, Jason with his tailored black suit, Kori with the always appropriate little black dress...

And Rohene looks like he just walked in from Luau Day on the Lido Deck:cool: Not what I expected from Mr. Bedazzler....

Maybe someone one asked him to dress more... "like a guy", and this was his twisted response

Then again... bedazzling is a lot of work, if Rohene wants a night off from the Bedazzler I think we should give it to him!

Personally I like seeing people comfortable... so if everyone is comfortable in different styles... i say keep pouring the wine till no once cares what everyone is wearing anymore.
