Jason Brown

:laugh::laugh2:

Sorry for laughing at your pain, but that was hilarious! (I'm also glad that I'm not the only one to have weird dreams, that when I wake up make me go: "What?!?")

No please, laugh away! That's why I posted - even I, who love Latin music, could not deal!

In retrospect, I think it might have been the moves in the Instagram clip that triggered my dream. They're not really the same, but there's something similar about the idea - repetitive sequential movement, I guess? And the tackiness and bling in the Los del Rios clip is like Rohene's glittery Chanel hightop sneakers, which are just....well...let's say...not to my taste.

Anyway. Hopefully they've learned from the past two years that audiences - and judges - respond to Jason's elegance, simplicity, growing maturity, and beauty of line, as well as his exuberance and joy, and they'll weave all of those things into the new programs, even if they're more outwardly showy and less reflective than this year's.

ETA Yeah TMC, it would - during one period in my life I had a big group of high energy friends from Latin America, and we had a lot of fun with it at parties!

haha oh yah! I agree with you guys! out of the bag alright already! don't leave us hanging anymore jacon & co. we want too see the process buildind into a big crisundo of supurb excellence acourse with rohene wards magic touch.

It occurred to me later that it could have been worse - does anyone remember the dreaded Ketchup Song?

I'm afraid that from such a dream one would probably wake up screaming a Star Wars-like: "NOOOOOOOO!";)

Okay. I have never had a dream even remotely related to figure skating before, but last night I had a dream, or should I say nightmare, that Jason's new SP is to the Macareña. In my dream, he said he wanted to show off the intricacy of its moves. I kid you not.

Wow, we can tell it really is off-season! I rarely dream but had a dream where Vincent Zhou was in it and another where Shoma was speaking fluent English. Is it time for the Challenger events yet!? It might help if Jason would reveal his programs.

wow! an tis a pationnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!! is making me waite. hahaha. oh well any body got any more Jason stories. do tell.:hap10:

I have a Jason-brother story. When I went to a local event where Jason was participating to help raise money for a charity, I met his brother. This guy was coming around to sell raffle tickets. He suspiciously looked like a dead-ringer for Jason. Of course I had to say "You MUST be Jason's brother!" He was as nice as could be, and yes, he was Jason's brother. It was in 2014 and getting close to the time when Grand Prix assignments would be revealed. We kept trying to get him to tell us if he knew if Jason would be skating at Skate America. Of course he couldn't tell us! (We found out shortly after that he was!).

Raffle tickets were $5. My good friend bought one ticket and won the prize -- 2 VIP all-event passes to SA that were wonderful seats and included food and a pass to get into the VIP lounge. I think it was something like a $400 prize! What a wild night! And the best part was seeing Jason. It was a charity event but he skated like he was skating for the Olympic gold. He really came out and gave it his all. (edit -- All that and I think our tickets cost $8).

Quotes from Jason are in yesterday's article re Aerial Challenge by Brooklee Han (covering numerous skaters):

FWIW, the quotes have nothing to do with why he took part in the team Aerial Challenge, but my own two cents:

Some skaters -- such as Jason, Max, Gracie, etc. -- seem to really embrace WTT and competing as a team.
Jason was the only singles skater in the team AC who did not compete in the 2017 individual AC (as was his prerogative, of course), so maybe it was just that the team format had a lot more appeal for him??
(With the charitable aspect as motivation as well.)

ETA/LOL:
Jason is the only skater with all of the following under his belt: Olympic team event + WTT (twice for Jason) + TCC + Aerial Team Challenge.
And perhaps he will have the opportunity to add Japan Open in a future year???

wow that was so cool your so lucky! great memories. yes his seems very nice as does his whole family and very supportive of Jason.

Whenever I visit Jason's FF, I always leave with a smile.

this.so.much.

myself, I'm feeling this way about all his performances, too. It's just a form of Jason's living 'testament' he puts out there: the openess and positivity which unites people. There's always something there - a photo, an article, a video - which makes me 'mind-lighter' of some sorts, ot only about Jason, his actions etc., but also about close-knit community of people there. I think that the exchange of poitive energy goes both ways actually and makes endless circles between Jason and his fans/supporters - he draws the enthusiasm from people and gives it back to them by multiplying it by various areas of his life.

I trust Jason and his team that both programs will be amazig vehicles, showing off his personality and different sides of it, can't wait until FS choice will be revealed and premiered, along with 'Hamilton' SP.

Is anyone watching A Capitol Fourth on PBS? There's a man standing behind the performers wearing the same USA suit that Jason wore at WTT. It's cracking me up.

More to smile about - Jason being Jason on the Fourth of July!

https://instagram.com/p/BWImyCqgPgR/

I actually kind of hope we get a longer version of this video on his YouTube channel.

When a 17 year old (Karen Chen) asks you where you get your energy, you know you got it going on. The problem with Jason is that, when it comes to Americana, there is way too much to choose from: he has enough photos, gears and outfits for the next 50 Fourth of Julys.....

and that's ok! go Jason! get your American pride freak on go usa hes repercenting our country for American sports. and doing a great job.

Thanks - I love this!

It's always great to hear about events from Jason's perspective. I think his photos with Karen are so adorable and it's nice to get the background story. I'm sure his energy helped keep her going throughout that 12 hour day!

It's time to get out the GPS tracker for Jason again. A part of my brain remembered he has some things scheduled for July so I've compiled a list of what I know:

July 11 - Leukemia Benefit for Lucy Barrett

July 14 - Jason Bown/Tomoki Hiwatashi/Jordan Moeller Skate Milwaukee seminar "How to Work Through the tough times as a competitor"

August 12 - Featured performer at Sun Valley
