Jason Brown

Oh, now I am :o::o::o:

But now we need a Star Trek transporter so we can *all* watch Jason and meet up at the same comp:thumbsup:They will know us by our exceeding good taste in skaters:)

OMG yessssssss, imagine if this could happen! I would bring so many Tim Tams with me through the transporter.

For some reason I couldn't access the pictures....wahhhhhh:sad4:

Oh dear... someone else had the same problem. Both the fanclub group and my posts are public, so I assumed anyone could access... I guess I need to find another site to upload them!!!

I saw the pictures just fine! It sounds like you had a wonderful time. Thank you for sharing them and for your live competition reports!

As I mentioned in the live competition thread, I think the 4T (I don't know about the 4S since we haven't seen him attempt it too many times) is a mental game at this point -- as was the 3A before that. It really took him a while to have confidence in the 3A, even when he actually could physically do the jump. The attempt he included in his YouTube video pre-competition is actually good --just needs a bit of a tighter rotation. I think he's so limber that he isn't the tightest rotator. It makes the jump look airey and nice, but it means he takes more time to rotate and I think that's why he URs on it (that was the scenario at SkAm last year too, I think).

ETA: All the chatter regarding repeating programs + WeakAnkles points (which I kind of was thinking but couldn't articulate) that the FS is an interesting meld of Tristan and The Piano (The Piano of Tristan? :laugh) makes me think this is actually a good compromise. It's a new program, but yet it has some of the positive qualities of both programs.

Hamilton is kind of left field though and requires more seasoning.

The FS is to die for... so so beautiful!! Had me in tears... again!
Hamilton SP really really drew me in.. a surprise because I was not sure such a dialogue-driven piece would resonate but it does!! Probably because there is a strong percussive beat throughour that encourages the audience to clap along... that and Jason's amazing sense of rhythm and his dance ability. Totally pleased with his music choices this Olympic year. As for the jumps: Jason tends to improve incrementally over the season so no worries. Fingers-toes crossed he makes the team! Can't wait to see him perform Hamilton at Nationals wondering what audience reaction will be.

I agree with all of this 100% :agree:

I'm glad somebody else loves his short as much as I do :yahoo:

Yay for the SP love! I think this program has great potential. Can't wait to see what it looks like in a few months.

Jason has picked up a new sponsor!

Meet Team Deloitte

Think you know Team Deloitte?

Meet Jason Brown

The other members of Team Deloitte are: Brittany Bowe, Shani Davis, Gus Kenworthy, Hilary Knight, Mikaela Matthews, Elana Meyers Taylor, Rico Roman, Nic Taylor, Danelle Umstead

Go Jason!

I say this with love, looks like Jerry Solomon is earning his keep:laugh:

But those Jason videos in the promo trailer are:agree:, Jason's moves are a photographer's dream!

Sorry, dreaded double post, but a question on the new Deloitte promo, particularly "Meet Jason Brown".

The way he stares right into the camera during the Russian split, and the size of the rink: could this be what he was filming, I think it was in Chicago, a month or so ago that was "secret" at the time?

Inquiring minds want to know:biggrin:

With the mistakes in the "Meet Jason" text, it appears that team Deloitte doesn't know Team Deloitte

Oh well, I'm happy for Jason in any case!!! :cheer:

Yes almost certainly! That was my first thought on seeing the rink.

Well, I have found the perfect evening for Jason fans: the USOC media demos (h/t to @ice coverage for the original post about USOC media day).

The media will watch Jason perform "part" of the Hamilton SP as the men's figure skating demo. So far, so good.

But that will be *after* drinks and dessert at the rink.

Drinks, dessert, Jason skating, all in the same place? Can I get a press pass, like now:laugh:

That was fun to watch! And I appreciate the reference to Hamilton being a work in progress though theater terms (off-broadway/workshop.)

And more vids coming while we wait for Skate Canada. Sounds good to me.

OK, so Jason is taking over Team USA Snapchat today, and can I just say:

I'm old, I'm cranky, I'm out of it, I don't get it, but the animals ears and noses on Snapchats? Like ugh ugh ugh:disapp: And young adults like Jason and Mirai? Double uggh.

And talking like they're on helium? Reminds me of doing whippets (not that *I* did whippets:biggrin:) as a youngster. Like why?

Grouch mood over, I do like the fact that Jason is packing for an overnight to SLC like he's going to Bergamo:laugh:

I am not on Snapchat ... have not seen Jason's packing for SLC.

Maybe you mean that he's taking what seems like a lot of clothing?
If so, the thing is that he will be expected to have multiple looks for different types of photo shoots and interviews at the media summit.
Skating costumes ... training gear ... casual street wear ... more formal "dressy" outfits ... wardrobe changes galore.

Excerpt from a 2013 article re Max's busy day at the USOC media summit:
Because there were so many different interviews with so many different requests, Aaron was constantly changing his outfit to meet the needs of the various media outlets. So he toted around a small bag of clothing to make the various accommodations. Some media wanted him photographed in his figure skating costume (He brought his black outfit that he plans on wearing when he skates his long program to music from “Carmen.”) For other interviews, he sported a Team USA sweatshirt and jeans. For others, he wore regular street clothes.

Anyway, I hope Jason and all the skaters have a blast.

Wheeeeeeeeee! Adorable Jason interview coming up! I love these.

(Now please excuse me while I go bang my head against a wall upon seeing the rest of the lineup. HOW THE HECK IS RIPPON GETTING INVITES TO THESE THINGS AND NOT MAX)

I'm glad Max had a chance to experience the media summit in 2013 (although it definitely is bittersweet for me to revisit the article above).

I wish that Max were going to the media summit again, but others had a better season in 2016-17. Sigh.

Meanwhile, I wonder whether USFS intentionally   chose today (as others travel to the summit) to give a supportive nod on social media to Max -- looking good in his Destination PyeongChang shirt.

Jason's vlog from Lombardia was great.
Glad to see a lot of Jordan :ghug:.
And as always, the local food was a highlight for Jason :yay: (even if he brings snacks from home too).

And congratulations to Jason for the Deloitte sponsorship :).

....

I don't want to misrepresent, Snapchat didn't show Jason packing his bags (like the vlog), but he and Mirai were in the airport and Mirai asked him how many bags he had. Of course, Mirai may need less hair product. ;)

And we all want him to look his best at the summit!

Ugh that was way too annoying - I had to stop listening. Maybe preteen girls will enjoy it.
