Jason Brown

Well, Lin is theatre's sunshine-embodient and Jason is skating's sunshine-embodiment so of course they would gravitate towards each other

Jason's latest Japanese vlog is also adorable! (And comes with bonus baby!Max).

Super excited for Skate Canada next week!

Just figured out something now about Skate Canada (duh) :hslap::

Jason's training mate Laurine will be also there. I wonder how much the feds take into account skaters with the same coach when making their selections?

Of course, go Jason

:agree: And thanks to Jason for helpfully including subtitles in English this time .

The thing is that I think there probably are quite a few counter-examples of training-mates not being assigned to the same GPs.

e.g., Max and Mirai each have two non-Skate-America GP assignments this year, with no overlap.

My guess (only a guess) is that feds are aware of which skaters are training-mates, and sometimes things do work out well for training-mates to be selected for the same assignments. And sometimes not.

BTW, I saw your post in the Skate Canada thread about Jason not lacking for friends there :ghug:, although he is the only U.S. man.
Courtney Hicks :) also belongs on the Jason good-buddy list, I would say.

ETA:

At this late date, randomly adding a thought to the discussion that ensued when Laurine's move to Kori first came to light.
I don't know whether any background regarding Laurine's switch ever was made public.

My wild speculation re a possible factor:
Perhaps FFSG liked what Kori did with Romain? And even after Romain moved on with Mariah, FFSG was happy to have another French skater work with Kori??

I'm already positive and all smiles (despite Monday in office), because it's Jason's weekend and also wonderful Aussie team with Kailani and Brendan, I am so glad that so much of positivity has been allocated in one event:):cheer:

I think I may have seen this photo before, but because (for me) it shows a side of Jason that we all know, but not everyone else does:

Page 41 of Skating Magazine has a tiny photo of Jason lifting weights with trainer Benoit Duboscq. Sometimes I wonder if folks who just see happy perky Jason really think that he just goes out on the ice and spins around. :scratch3:

http://content.digitalpub.blue-soho...7SKATING/flash/resources/24.htm?origin=reader (it may open to Karen Chen, I don't know how to move it).

And he is holding the freeweight in exactly the same way my trainer taught me, with hands in "opposite directions". I guess I had a good strength coach, now if only I knew how to skate:laugh:

Wouldn't surprise me at all, actually - if something looks easy & effortless, people tend to assume that it is easy & requires no effort.

:laugh2: Ok - no one told me when I booked my Calgary-Regina flight that I was going to be on the Skater's Express. Holy moly! Karen, Tammy, Ashley, Jason, Ro, Kori, (I think) Todd Sand, Courtney Hicks. I'm sure there were others that I missed!

I was sitting messing with my tablet waiting for our flight and I heard a voice I KNEW I recognized. There was Jason talking with Rohene! Of course, I had to talk to him. He gave me a big hug and I told him good luck! Told him I want to see him on that podium! He thanked me and of course is just as nice as can be...Then I got on the plane and my seat mate was Ashley! And the weekend is just starting!

ETA - Just realized I was talking to Michal Brezina and I didn't know it! Ashley was calling him Mike, and I kept thinking "Who is Mike?!"

OMG, Arriba, that is so awesome!!! And you're right - it's only just starting. :) Thanks for that report!

Jason was so cute. After we talked, I sat down. As his group was boarding the plane, he waved to me. He was so cute and so personable. He gave me a hug without a moment's hesitation. He is one in a million! I also told him to just do what he did in Lombardia. Later on, I thought maybe that wasn't quite the right thing to say, but I got so excited I don't think I knew what I was saying!!!! :drama:

What great stories, @Arriba627, I’m so glad you shared them! Team USA knew you were coming and saved a seat;)

Have a great time, and we’ll look forward to hearing more:biggrin:

Selling it that much at practice, I like. :luv17:

And I liked the lady who was clapping along, although hopefully not just because she was cold. People did look bundled up:laugh:

Frickin' hell, that was great.

Though my own calf muscle screamed in sympathy on that brutal slip in the step sequence.

ALSO HI BRENDAN I SEE YOU

wow Arriba627 that's truly amazing that you met Jason and his team and then other figure skaters on your flight. enjoy the event and good luck too every body.
