Jason Brown

el henry, never be sorry for those supposed-to-be 'old-fashioned' things! I'm exactly the same and proud of them, they are all about charm and sentiment to the past that keeps us also within the present:)

My book-blogging friend posted some "A Christmal Carol" quotes today, and one of them was this:

"‘I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future.’ Scrooge repeated, as he scrambled out of bed. ‘The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me."

:)

OK, I've got the cards and stamps out, along with the address book. (Yes, an old fashioned, written on paper in a bound book address book. I'm *that* old school

I posted this in the general Olympics thread, but I do love this fan art of the men at GPF, including Jason and his onigir:

this fan art is everything! Wish all disciplines would have such fantastic promo:)

it looks like Adam is singing to the song Nathan is playing (Adam being his ultra-sassy himself, surrounded by diamonds), while Jason is dancing and doing splits with his signature smile; at the same time, Shoma is eating some meat under veggie disguise, swaying to the rhythm of the music, Mikhail already practicing EX and Sergei is looking at all this thinking :'what the heck they are doing?!'

Isn't Shoma's name translated mean cabbage? Hence the cabbage on his head?

I have to go to work, but my current morning routine is such that waking up at 2:30 a.m. PST Thursday would only be a few hours off when I actually wake-up.

Going to workout afterwards, LOL!

Well, only Salt Lake is closer. :) What is it about the PNW that gets all these stops?

There is an active skating community in the PNW, I'm guessing. While it's not the elite center like Colorado Springs or Southern California, it seems like there are well-established local skating clubs that would be interested in events like SOI.

Key Arena in Seattle is also in Seattle Center, which has a ton of other tourist spots like the Space Needle and the Pop Culture Museum, so that might help things too.

I went to the SOI show in Portland on the last Olympic year and there were a lot of empty seats, so I'm actually surprised they got one of the dates. It is playoff season in the NBA by then, so Moda Center is used far less around that time period [edited: and it looks like the NBA would be between rounds even if the Trailblazers made it to the NBA Finals, which is looking pretty unlikely right now] so maybe SOI got a good deal.

I do feel super spoiled though -- we got SkAm in Everett and GPF in Vancouver...I'm going to have to figure out how to save money for all these things...

When Mrs. P. and Rosa74 mentioned “near me”, I thought well, yes, Hershey, if I can drive an hour and a half to see Andrew T. and Sean Rabbitt and Max, well I can drive two hours to see Jason....

But the PPL Center in Allentown? 4 flipping miles from my house? And Jason on the permanent cast?
:dbana::dbana:

There’s a great little Ethiopian restaurant half a mile from the arena. My night is set!:agree:

^ I know where you live. I used to go to band competition there. Trust me. I know what "near you" means

I am not as close as you, but the dates are such that I can make a weekend trip out of any of the three PNW stops. Also all three places have good places for ice cream, my current and ongoing obsession.

I'll eat Ethiopian with you!!! And congrats on being so close. :agree:

Jason is in Nagoya! And isufigureskating's IG story has a photo of Jason holding a program content form with the words "Yay, program content updated!" We'll find out soon enough what these updates are.

(Although if you want to screenshot the photo and try to read the blurry program content sheet, be my guest.)

Although they seem to change layouts on the fly depending on Jason's condition, so who knows whether he'll actually adhere to it. I won't be surprised if they decide to take out all the quads either. :slink:

It's really close to being able to be read. Surely, someone can make it out. :)

Shoma hates veggies and his fans are always teasing him with veggie-related stuff. :luv17:

but admit, this fan art on Twitter is SPOT ON about everyone, Shoma especially with this veggies everywhere and him munching on some meat looking half-asleep:laugh:

I'm far from technical/layouts expert, BUT - I do think that taking quads off the plan for this GPF could be a good strategy, at least not relying on that 'quads' plan' strictly. I know I'm in minority there, but this GPF is a bit unexpected, being more of an opportunity than planned step and sticking to the quads religiously could take the joy and thrill of this opportunity out in my opinion. Jason strikes me as a type who does the best in competitive environment when not 'bound' by any obligation, burden of people's opinion, things/factors imposed on him externally - I feel that the les stress they put on quads this time, the better outcome has potential to be. He really should approach this competition with low pressure, but high self-expectations - this time around, he won't be stood in favourite's shoes and this could give him 'boost' to do his best.
