Jason Brown

He totally could do a Hamilton free!

Denis Ten did his short AND long to The Artist that one year. He could keep Room Where it Happens and then do a completely different free skate from Hamilton.

And yes, I think Hershey would be closer. If the show was in Philadelphia, it would be six/half-a-dozen. My cousin lives in Lancaster (where I was born!) and they sometimes fly out of BWI because it's cheaper than PHL.

Well, @rosa74, spring is lovely in the Lehigh Valley, and you can join the (I hope ;) ) cadre of Jason fans here.
And I hate to say this, but wouldn’t Hershey be closer? Not that I know my Southern geography all that well (when I drove south on 81 into Maryland, they have a sign up for the Mason Dixon line, and each time, I was like, that’s right, this is the South::biggrin:

Actually, Hershey is a whole 5 mins slower. :)

Sigh of relief!

I can’t believe I stayed up so late, but so worth it, with great skates by so many guys including Jason.

4:52 am and I still haven't gone to bed! I just COULDN'T! And now I'm so wound up I'll never go to sleep! Ha! The last group was just awesome! So glad Jason had a skate he can really be proud of. And Kori looked SO happy in the K & C!

I can't sleep either! Turns out the Australian Open Ladies final is going on right now so I'm watching that and checking out the gala!

Also, at the end of the video--Jason says "I Love You" in Mandarin (according to Jackie Wong)! How adorable.

ETA: And my fave, Caroline Wozniacki won the Australian Open and her first grand slam title and got #1 status! She's like the Jason Brown of tennis (such a sunny and bright personally). SUCH A GREAT SPORTS NIGHT FOR ME!!!

Congratulations to Jason for the bronze :).

Jackie's translation is correct. And it's great that Jason learned those words.

That said ... only because Jason himself enjoys language studies, I do wonder about one little thing.
What Jason said is: "I love you" -- meaning singular "you". Plural "you" would have another syllable.
I can't rule out the possibility that maybe(?) it is common usage to use singular "you" in this type of situation when addressing a ginormous audience?? But I wonder whether next time he should try to use plural "you"??

I could not stay up and watch in real time because I have to work today and be somewhat focused. I just watched the LP and Gala video. I am so moved by Jason's strength and courage. This season and the outcome after Nationals has been such a disappointment for him yet he went out and skated his heart out. I am not surprised by the tears at the end of the LP and our course the huge smiles at the end of the exhibition. I thoroughly enjoyed all three of his programs as did the crowd and thankfully the judges.
Congratulations to Jason on the bronze medal and to Max and Grant for their beautiful LP's as well.

You mean as in "Wor ai ni men"? Not just "Wor ai ni".
He could have said the standard "Thanks everyone for the support" but I reckon it's too formal.

Yaaaay! Just popped in to check results. Glad to see that Jackie's prediction wasn't a jinx.

Congrats, Jason!

Some interesting comments from Jason in this article about what happened to him this season:

http://web.icenetwork.com/news/2018/01/27/265431394/

It will be really interesting to see where he goes from here, both in terms of his technical focus and his programs.

And can I just say, triple loop! Not only did he land it, it got +GOE!

As I was watching it in real time, I said out loud, "Just land the stupid loop." Glad he listened to me.

There's even more fun comments on the GS article!

On the new upcoming rule change, Brown said it’s the job of the skaters to figure out how to maximize their potential.

“When you get to a point where the skaters are able break records and push those rules, it’s that time to change it up again and you are in a system where you try to break those records and push those boundaries,” he explained. “I think it’s exciting. Until we try it and you’re in it, you kind of know whether it’s better or worse. I think it’s an exciting opportunity and we’ll see how it goes next year.”

That's kind of an interesting way to look at it.

As I mentioned in the FC thread -- I think Jason shouldn't have any regrets for trying to be ambitious and do so much in one season, but It sounds like he learned a valuable lesson about not letting that strip him of his value of doing what he does best and let the other stuff come with time.

Happy tears, just like Jason. :yes2:

I will make this all about me, for a change. ;)Normally, I would have at least seen the first flight of skaters live last night, but early to bed yesterday because early to rise meeting with bathroom remodeling guy. I kid you not, a 90 year old tub and tiles, like real remodeling:eeking: And I didn't even check my twitter or Facebook until he was gone, because I couldn't stand dealing with possible disappointment and feeling bad for Jason *and* bathroom remodeling.:laugh2:

Now I can celebrate. Woot!:hap10:

Woot! Woot! Works for me. I was soooo happy for Jason. If you look at the protocols he beat the top 2 in every category except the first one. That really says something. Please please please get a consistent quad or two over the summer Jason. No one can sell a program like Jason with all the level of detail and completeness. Like Charlie said (and Charlie said A LOT) if Jason could just get those damnable quads he would be a force to be reckoned with.

Big smile!!!

Congratulations to Jason for winning the Bronze Medal. Beautifully skated program, loved it!

Now the Eagles just need to win the Super Bowl. ;)

I'm glad he decided to play it safe. Much better performance than in the US nationals. Happy for him to get a medal... :clapper:
