I loved it. It was 27 minutes, so a lot of talking! Evgenia and Jason had a lot of nice things to say about each other. Some we've heard before, a few new items. I enjoyed hearing Evgenia talk about commentating for the men's FS, and how she was as nervous for Jason as she was when she competed. And also about how difficult it was to get through the athlete's bubble so that they could meet in Beijing. Media and athletes were not allowed to mix. She had to try 3 different days to get into the 'mixed zone' - so she could meet Jason, Brian and Tracy. She seemed very determined to see them. That's nice! I will check it out. They had also done the old one when they were both still at Cricket. I was so glad to see that they were able to get together for a while in Beijing. I hope that they are always friends.
I might have missed it but I don't remember seeing this photo of Jason and Evgenia on the Olympic rings before
Chicago has no mountains. It's flat. They're out west somewhere. His family was in Park City for a while.I was just coming into post: he heard us
At first I thought it was Chicago, but I don't think Chicagoland has those mountains shown in the second photo. Although what do I know? and wearing those parkas in the desert could cause heat stroke.

Jason uses his "Mt. Everest parka" on the ski trails (I can't believe he actually skied in that get-up, but since I've skied once in my life, 45 years ago, I could be wrong)
All is revealed on Instagram Stories. Jason is with his family at Mammoth Mountain on the eastern slopes of the Sierra Nevadas. He's taking his Ralph Lauren duties seriously!

There's not a lot of snow cover on the mountain. They need more snow pack for skiers and for water to end the drought. All is revealed on Instagram Stories. Jason is with his family at Mammoth Mountain on the eastern slopes of the Sierra Nevadas.
I hadn't seen this one. It would be great if the scoring encouraged other skaters to push the other technical marks beyond jumps and to improve skating skills, artistry and consistency and that those skills would be rewarded. Jason has shown them the way. The younger skaters moving up might be able to create a good balance if the scoring encourages them to do so. There have been revolutionary skaters in the past, like Torville and Dean in Ice Dance. Jason could lead the way for men to jump and skate artistically and win competitions. It will depend on what the ISU wants skating to be.I know articles from People have been posted before, but I don't remember reading this one before. (Or maybe "updated" with new quotes) Particularly this quote about Sinnerman at the Olys:
It was the kind of program, fellow Olympic medalist Jeremy Abbott told PEOPLE, that "not a single one of those other men could possibly skate."
"Absolutely stunning," Abbott said of Brown's artistry.
Preach, Jeremy, preach!

After an 'Absolutely Stunning' Routine, Olympic Medalist Jason Brown Makes Final Beijing Appearance
"Really, really I'm so proud of the career that I've had in the sport, but there's that piece of knowing that you're not quite finished yet," Jason Brown tells PEOPLEpeople.com
Perhaps the perfectionist in Jason will want to nail the combination jump in the free programme, and grab a medal at World Championships - he was tantalisingly close to the podium at the Olympics, plus, the pressure is off for him to perform a quad.I have seen nothing but skiing.I would imagine after family time, this week might be time for a chat with Tracy and Brian about the future.
To be honest, I'm not sure about Jason's participation even if Nathan doesn't go. Of course, I want nothing more than to see him skate again, and to see him skate next year, and to see what he has to give to skating.
But it is difficult, if I am not being selfish, to imagine a better send off than his beautiful Olympics programs.

Yes. I'm not sure either - and his Olympics were magical, but I also had a similar thought to @Ruthypegs in that a world medal could actually be possible - and wouldn't that be a lovely send off? (Although I'm NOT ready for him to be finished with his career, I suspect he is.)I have seen nothing but skiing.I would imagine after family time, this week might be time for a chat with Tracy and Brian about the future.

I hope he takes as much time as he needs to make the decisions. I’d like to see him go back to Chicago and talk with Ro. He could return to the States while he makes up his mind. Once moved out of Toronto he can start to move on with his life. After SOI he will know more about what he wants to do. I don’t see him working with the CC anymore. They don’t have anything to teach him now.He has said that he won't make a decision until talking with his team, but he was a little reluctant to train full out as a first alternate. If Nathan actually withdraws, that might be a different story. USFS would probably want him to go in that case. But Nathan hasn't withdrawn. And he doesn't seem to be training full out either. Nathan has reached his goal. If getting one more World's Championship would cap off his amazing career, he might want to do it. Jason has reached his goal. He never said he wants one more World's. I think both Jason and Nathan are unsure about this for very different reasons and some similar reasons. It would be lovely to see Jason at World's if he can be as relaxed and happy as he was at the Olympics. I think he really is torn, but he also seems to be looking ahead a lot and that's good for him. He has said over and over that he's looking forward to having a personal life, which he pretty much gave up in the past couple of years. One decision point, if the spot is offered to him, would be that maybe his family could be there. That might tip the balance. All speculation. I hope he does what will make him the happiest. He deserves that!
