Encouraging that Jason and Rohene are working on "future performances"....For any of you who are near Chicago, here's a great opportunity. We now know that Jason will be in Chicago at the end of this month.
https://www.instagram.com/p/CbInm2zLQSV/ Jason is not going into hiding!
Yep - I am happy for Camden, and I'm sure Jason made the decision not to compete at Worlds a while ago, but I'm really bummed because he could VERY likely have a World Medal.Well, now we know for absolutely totally sure Jason isn't going to Worlds.
My gut feeling is, just like after 2014, but for totally different reasons. He is at peace, but he doesn't want to go, and he told USFS that from the start.
even if I want to see him skate again![]()
I knew it would happen. I’d love for Jason to go on tour with Ro too. He does some interesting stuff. SOI special performances; I would guess. There are only 13 skaters mentioned in SOI. That isn’t many.Encouraging that Jason and Rohene are working on "future performances"....

I think that Jason made his peace with not going to World's when they originally assigned Ilia. I don't think he wanted to leave his fate up to Nathan or Vince not going. He's moved on. The irony is that without Nathan, there is no guarantee that the US will earn 3 spots for next year. And yes, Jason might have medaled if he was in his best competitive head space. He knew he wasn't there. It's a good decision. It does give Vince and Ilia a chance to step up and show what they can do.Well, now we know for absolutely totally sure Jason isn't going to Worlds.

Someone on the Nathan Chen Fan Fest posted that SOI had announced the addition of Kait and Jean Luc. They aren't listed on the web site, so I don't know where that info came from. Since JLB is Jason's best buddy, they were happy that Nathan and JLB would be able to hang out. They also said 2 shows were added to the roster. I am really hoping that the Hawayek and Baker rumor is true. I would love to see them there. Time will tell! This is the same number of skaters they've had every year:

Three men, three or four ladies, three "couples" (in previous years, three ice dancers). Given how the show is typically structured (group numbers, fluff) they may be able to sneak in one or two more as "guest performers". But as much as I would love to see him, it won't be Ro.![]()

I was surprised that he wasn't invited also. It's apparently possible to do both. But I did notice that until H&B were added, that all the performers had at least one member who is from an Asian background. He's definitely doing the US tour. He's been promoting it. Touring in Japan would be a lot of fun, I think.Kaitlyn and Jean-Luc were added to SOI Japan:
You would think that Jason would be a natural for that tour, but he's not there. That's OK as long as he stays on the US one![]()
) I don't have an SOI stop any closer than Chicago and that's just not viable. I wonder if they're going to televise any of it this year. There are no locations closer than 3 hours to me either, but I'm combining this with a trip to NY and I have a friend within an hour's drive who will put me up for the night. So I was able to do it. If I'd had to reserve a hotel room, I wouldn't be going. I'm very glad that I can. I do wish that Hawayek and Baker were doing this tour. But they don't fill up the arenas in the US, so the tour has to be limited to a certain number of skaters to be viable, I guess. When I went to the show in Allentown 4 years ago, the arena wasn't even half full. Hoping that more people will come this year. They have sold a good number of tickets, but it's certainly not sold out. I bought a ticket to the Meet and Greet but who knows what that will be like. It will probably be very regimented. No hugs this year, and probably masks.I would LOVE to see Hayawek and Baker. Their exhibition pieces are always so creative and he's quite a showman. I do think Jason had already made plans of some sort when he wasn't chosen for the World Team. I'm just hoping Ilia skates well because I don't have much faith in Vincent OR Camden. Whatever Jason does I hope it's in front of a crowd...(preferably with me in that crowd!) I don't have an SOI stop any closer than Chicago and that's just not viable. Yes, "future performances".
We need Chicagoland spies to see if they are just punching up Sinnerman for SOI, or if it is truly something new.

I’d love to see Kait and Jean Luc too. I did see yesterday that they are joining Japan. I think they need more skaters in the US version. I only saw 13 listed. Yes. I don’t want to meet Jason in a mask - didn’t purchase this. When I saw him for the first and only time on the ice up close at the 2020 Nationals, I as too shy to say anything. I’m not a shy person either. A women sitting near me screamed his name and he smiled as he skated by the boards. He was in his SL costume and in the 20 minute warmup. I was embarrassed because I didn’t want him to think I did that. I’ve changed a lot since then so I don’t know how I would feel now. There are no locations closer than 3 hours to me either, but I'm combining this with a trip to NY and I have a friend within an hour's drive who will put me up for the night.
