Jason Brown

I believe Jason mentioned that with a post earlier. That one may not be on video. He is having so much fun. I’m tired just trying to keep. I think it may be RI next.
Yes, Providence tonight. I'll be going to the Allentown PA show on Thursday. They have 3 days to tour, rest whatever and then they have 4 shows and a lot of miles in a row. Two PA shows then Boston and Long Island. But they have a really nice bus and a tour guide arranging everything. It's a class operation! I believe that they only have one flight on this tour. It's almost all being done on this bus, which is a sleeper bus. They are being well cared for. They are rock stars!

I was at the Newark show last night - Jason was definitely one of the highlights for me.

Here's my video of "Sinnerman" - not the best quality but I tried to keep up with his moves. It was just amazing with some giving him a standing O.

As I said in my review in the SOI thread, he is the Energizer Bunny of skating.
Thank you! I really had hoped to be able to go to the show in Newark, but I couldn't make it work. I'm sad that I think I may have missed my opportunity to see peak Jason skating live. :( There really is NO ONE like him.

I don't know where you are located, of course, but there is a show on Thursday in Allentown PA and Friday in Hershey and a later show in Long Island. They don't usually sell out, so you can most likely buy a ticket that day. I hope that you get to see him skate somewhere. I've had that privilege several times and it's a treat! And the shows eliminate the tension of competition. It's totally fun!

Allentown is an hour and a half drive from NYC. There were buses in the Before Times, but I think they’ve gone out of business.

And we have a fun group meeting up ahead of time, it’s even going to be cold enough for me to wear my Jason sweatshirt:biggrin:

We can hope that he wants to continue for a year or two more. If there were lucrative skating shows available, I could see him retiring from competition, but in their absence the choice is less clear. Clearly he is the best in the world at what he does best, triples, edgework, choreo, musicality, spins, step sequences, artistry. Hopefully that is enough going forward. He still has a lot to offer. I think it will come down to what he wants his life to be over the next few years. He might possibly be tired of competing. Or not....

I'd love to see him skate another couple of years and see where he is at that point. Will he want to continue to work on quads? Will he just ignore quads and continue to hone his skills? Lots to think about!

Jason is going to be performing in Fantasy on Ice in Japan this summer. He's going to be doing the Kobe (June 17-19) and Shizuoka (June 24-26) shows:

Interesting! I think he may give up on the quads and concentrate instead on pushing all the other components and keeping consistent. If he'd tripled that jump at the Olympics (instead of doubling it), he would have placed, what, 4th?

Plus, he's skating the way he wants to skate, emphasising the artistry. I think he might want to keep pushing the sport in a different direction, and may consider another year or two. That's what I'm hoping, too, of course....

I have an 8AM meeting the morning after the Allentown show in NYC. I think it isn't in the cards. :( I'll have to hope for another opportunity and live vicariously through you all. (Too bad - I would have enjoyed also meeting some of you nice folks on this board.)
There is a show at 7 pm at Agannis Arena near Boston on Saturday. You could drive up!

I am going!
