Jason Brown

Take it easy, Doris. I brought the worst cold of my life back with me from Melbourne a couple of weeks ago and my doctor says the current cold/flu strains getting around are particularly nasty. It may not be COVID but it will still kick you around.

Hope that you get well soon. Boston does love Figure Skating. 7000 tickets is a lot! I've seen some of the videos. The skaters were energized. Allentown was less well attended. We were lucky that they came there at all. Downtown Allentown is not a lively place at night. They might pull better on a Saturday afternoon, but I'm sure they have better venues for that. It was better attended than 2018, which is the last time SOI was there
We were lucky that there were no falls until the finale, when Evan Bates' ridiculous costume with the huge wings on it caught on somebody else, and he went down

I am maybe back to where I was Sat. morning when I drove two and a half hours to Boston, stayed up to midnight with the show, coughed all night and so got no useful sleep, drove home today and just slept till now.

If anyone wants to get themselves to Seaton Elementary in DC by 2 pm tomorrow:

Jason will be delivering “Play at Home” kits on behalf of the US Olympic Committee (and helping to pack kits that morning)

Why are we not surprised at Jason involved in this kind of event? :)
I saw that he was in DC. It's 2 1/2 hours from me, sadly. But it's nice to know that he's out there representing skating, himself and doing good works.

I live nearby in Fairfax, VA, but I get too shy around Jason. He’s like a hero to me. I think this is all about the kids anyway.

I agree, I'm not sure this is a "Public" event, but I thought I would flag it.

Of all the Olympians and Paralympians at the conference this week, Jason is one of the eight doing this. And as we know, he's a natural for anything interacting with kids.

I'm happy that the athletes are going to be honored at the White House. I don't know how many can actually attend, but I'm glad that the SOI crew will be able to be there.

Remember when Jason met President and Michelle Obama at the White House? Jason was so young. :) (In my mind's eye, I can see the pictures of him with others, including Nate B. and Felicia, goofing around on the White House lawn)

Are the only other skaters here from that team Evan and Madi? and I don't know if they went.

I can’t imagine a school letting strangers in for this.

Yup, only Jason and Madi and Evan are from the 2014 team. Everyone else retired. Mirai was from that Olympic quad, but they sent Ashley Wagner instead of Mirai who came in 3rd.

He does indeed! He came in 6th at the Olympics! He's got stuff to teach them!
To compare, Brian had been charging $150 an hour for his skaters. And he is well worth it. That isn't even one on one. That fee was a few years ago back when Jason first joined TCC. The going fee might be higher now. Jason isn't going for the money. It's an investment into his future career. And he gets to hang out with Brian and Tracy. All good!
