Jason had a short interview when he was in Osaka.
He is thinking of choosing Adios for this year's SP.
Rohene will choreograph FS once Jason will be back in Chicago after The Ice is over.

It's true that US Nationals are in January, so of course, he's not late in getting new programs! It must be quite a different experience from his full competitive years, and I'm sure that he's seizing this opportunity to go deeper into "details" he had to put aside in his previous skates, and/or to prepare his post-competitive career.

It will be interesting to see where they put the jumps. And if he uses the alternate program for exhibitions. And it will be interesting to see how much time he spends in Toronto with Brian and Tracy before Nats. Does he have a lot of ice shows to do in the Fall?

I am just grateful that he didn't walk away after the 22 Olympics. With the bare bones seasons during the pandemic, there was no coda. Now he can have one and plenty of time to work up to it.

Very Sinnerman-esq. The movements, the choreo, the steps, all with that Sinnerman abruptness and power. The staccato feel of the song even has some echoes of Nina Simone. Can't wait to see as it is more developed.

And hearing "The decision is mine!" over and over again, how appropriate for Jason.

Finally was able to really watch this. It is so much Jason. Not wild about the staccato words in the music, but the skating? He is such an artist, and I am eager to see how this develops into another great, classic, Jason Brown program.

Ok this is going to be random from me, but before Jason fully retires I want to see him do a program choreographed by Benoit.
I would love to see the wonderful angles and strange movements they could come up with in the choreo and of course, Jason would skate it beautifully and masterfully!

He bring out more of how the incessant quad drumbeat (although he never says that) affected him as a young skater. We are so fortunate he came through that and now feels comfortable skating as himself!

I think so often people get so defeated, and I've gotten so defeated because I felt like, "Well if I can't keep up with that narrative or that direction, then there isn't a spot for me in the sport, or there's no hope for me moving forward or nobody's going to care about the program I bring forth." You start to compare in a way that's destructive versus helpful.

Jason grew up a lot since that last message to his younger self. Jason learned to skate his best and be who he is. 5 1/2 years after the 2018 Olympics, Jason is still going and he's still competitive. He's competitive on his own terms. That is a difficult lesson to learn, but the great skaters learn that lesson. And he is a great skater! We ARE lucky that he's still skating for us and for himself. He's unique!

They don't seem to have a digital subscription to this magazine, the way the International Skating magazine did. It seems to be print only. Hoping someone enlightens us. I would like to read it. One of my friends used to pass on her copy, but I don't think she gets it anymore. The cover shot is great! I'd happily pay for a one issue digital read if it was available.

Two comments: the first is something Jason said when talking about his 3 favorite programs. I'll paraphrase: "when Rohene believes in something you don't question it!" AMEN to that! I firmly believe that Rohene has had a major contribution to Jason's quadless success by virtue of the fantastic programs he's choreographed to show Jason in the best light. The second is : darn that's a great picture of Jason.

He is indeed with Ilia, Isabeau and Mariah! He is also doing Friends on Ice in Saitama beginning August 25th. Jason is racking up those frequent flyer miles! Japan Open is in October.

Jason clearly has a superior agent now and is very focused on his career sequel and his long term career. It's great to see. This generation of skaters is very entrepreneurial and Jason should be very successful. He had 4 years of watching Brian and Tracy run their business and I am sure that he learned from them and that they are very supportive. It's exciting!
