Jason Brown

Thank you for sharing that story @fzztsimmons, how interesting, I had no idea this was the song that he'd had copyright issues with!

Having watched the video kindly provided by @katmari, even though I am out of the loop on the singer or the song, I like the soulful intensity, I think Jason could (of course) slay.
I like this Free Skate for Jason because if he makes it to the Olympics, fingers crossed, he does make it to the Olympics, Jason will shine and make it another one of his skating masterpieces.

Not sure if anyone is following Jason on Instagram, but he's been posting quite a bit. He is on his way to Champs Camp in Boston with Tracy, and I believe that he is doing the Summer Sizzler. He said he thinks he'll do a short snippet of his FS there. For anyone near Boston, that might be a fun experience. He seems very upbeat, very ready for the season and focused on getting that Olympic spot.

Jason's IG posts are informative and also very entertaining. He lets us know what he's doing in such a fun and lively way. I like how he makes the effort to have rapport with his fellow skaters as well as fans. The lineup for the Summer Sizzler looks very good - I hope that we hear some feedback about it. ☺️

Jason's Say Something SP at Sizzler. A beautiful spiral. Jacob's powerful rendition of "Say Something" perfectly matches Jason's expressions.

in Anthony Paradis' interview with Goldenskate, when asked about idols in figure skating, guess whose name came up? :)

"Jason has the best skating skills,” said Paradis. “It’s a once in a lifetime talent. Also, his determination. Like he’s getting older, but he’s still there and still performing as much as he did when he was younger. It’s so impressive to be putting yourself out there after all those years. It’s so inspiring!”

One of us.

Well it’s official.

Riverdance for the SP 💚 🍀

I think both programs will make me cry,
That's interesting on so many levels. It's got to be better than the original, but it will be shorter. With many fewer jumps. The step sequence could be glorious! It's going to make a huge statement if he does make the Olympic team! 2014 to 2026! It will have a great backstory! It's a really exciting concept! I'm actually not surprised, but I am delighted! This season is shaping up to be really interesting and really exciting. In a way, it's the summation of the generation of skaters that Jason is in, along with Chock and Bates, Gilles and Poirier, Charlene and Marco, Sui and Han, the Shibs and many more. Regardless of who makes the Olympics, the GP season will be very significant! I can't help but think that Riverdance will be Jason's Bookends.

Jason's instagram SP announcement.

I guessed that 2025 Riverdance would be quite improved in skating, in comparison with 2014 Riverdance (which was still a favourite of mine) but wow! Just wow! How much hard work did he put in foundation, and in fine-tuning of every move of this program, which looks so easy! Yes he'll bring the house down and it will be well deserved!
I have another good news: Takeshi Honda (44 and heavier than in his competition times), in The First Skate (opening show of a new skating rink in Sendai, Japan), skated to a program starting with Japanese flute then drums, and turning to Irish themes on bagpipe then fiddle, and while his skating skills weren't to Jason Brown's level, his split jumps were still impressive, nearly as much as Jason Brown's. So, "old" as we may find Riverdance, it's maybe still in the first half of its career with Jason Brown.

I saw Rohene refer to the new SP on Faceook as Riverdance 3.0.

Here's a look back at Jason's previous Riverdance performances:

Riverdance 1.0 2013/2014 Free Program

Riverdance 2.0 Gala performance at 2025 Worlds

Riverdance Extra duet with Shae Lynne Bourne at Friends on Ice 2022
