@noskates we must be somewhat kindred spirits! Growing up, Kurt was my favorite men's skater and Ra-Gi-Don Time is one of my all time favorite programs. When I watched that 2014 Nats Riverdance live on TV, I got the same feeling I did when I watched Kurt skate and knew I'd be a JB fan for the long haul.

Maybe I need to jump on the "JB as my avatar train," but which iconic JB moment to pick?

Did anyone see that reel the Olympics account posted of Jason and his mom at the Rotation Room in Toronto with the caption "Take your Mom to work day"? It was cute. And bittersweet because it's still not fair we don't get to see him at the Olympics. I'm just gonna trust that this means he's gonna slay the day away at Worlds.
 
cc07 - LOVED Rag-i-don. So creative. Sandra Bezik really knew how to get the best out of Kurt. That was a choreo marraige made in heaven much like Rohene and Jason. The commercial that's killing me now is for the Olympics with Jason and his parents where his mom hangs a medal around his neck and it's made of chocolate. I'm sure the company thought Jason would be going to the O's. I just wonder how he's doing now and if he's made peace with the situation. Disastrous as it was, it doesn't cancel out years of success.

p.s. as El Henry and I found out, it's hard to find a picture of Jason that isn't copyrighted making it impossible to copy and paste. But keep looking.

The Olympics went from being a must see event, to a minor one that I may or may not watch much because Jason won't be there. I'll watch a few things, but it's just another competition now. I'll watch some downhill skiing and I'll watch the women and Ice Dance. Men no longer interests me. Jason is the best that there is and that's who I want to see. No Jason, no Shoma, no Nathan. Who cares?

I totally agree! I can't watch the men's event because there is no Jason. There is no other man that I wanted or needed to see but Jason. I may get flack for this but, I am not a fan of Ilia. Yes, he is a great skater, jumps wise, but something artistically is missing for me. Also, his personally isn't my cup of tea. Kurt Browning and Scott Hamilton are great figure skaters who I adore. But, Jason Brown will always have my heart. BTW, I have a feeling that Jason is going to go to Worlds because he probably would have announced his retirement from competitive skating already. I hope that Jason has the skates his life at Worlds.😊

I really wanted to see Jason at the Olympics - for so many reasons. However, although I don't think any other skater can match him for sheer artistry, there are a few other very special performers that will be there (e.g. Deniss Vasiljevs, Donovan Carillo, Kevin Aymoz), so I will be cheering them on.

I took a couple pictures of him skating at Nats, and my mom got even better pictures, but given what happened there, I'd rather not use one of those 🥴 So I'll continue an online search.

I'll be watching what I can of the games because there are other men's skaters I enjoy, but I'll probably do a rewatch of 2022 to make myself feel better. The SP ending on the Sinnerman program was pure cinema.
 
I had seen comments a few days ago in other places, that he was in Milan and talking to fans, but I could hardly believe it.

I would not have the kindness in my heart and the maturity to travel to the Olys under such circumstances. But Jason, as always, is kind and mature. :)

I can't imagine the strength it takes to go to the Olympics after failing to qualify, and then realizing your score from four years ago would have won the silver this time around 🥴 But as usual, Jason is showing us all what it means to be a supportive teammate and show grace and love to others in the midst of a hard time.

I also heard comments he was in Milan, with someone saying they hoped to see him at worlds, and he confirmed he would be there. But who knows how true that is.

Yes, Jason is a gem of a human being. I also hope that Jason will be at Worlds because I need Jason to go to Worlds. In addition, I think that he needs to go to Worlds. I just pray that Jason dumps his Free Skate of Say Something and skates to Spegiel und Spegiel again. Jason's skating always says something, he didn't need to skate to that piece of music. 😊

That's exciting news. I would be fine with whatever he decided but seeing him in Milan being so cheerful and supporting Team USA made me think that he might actually do World's. I would like to see him have a skate that he's happy about.

I think that Jason should do whatever he wants to do. I was seriously hoping that he would go with his family to Milan and enjoy the games. He's doing that and bringing joy to the people, and stuffed toys to the kids at RMHC. It's all good. He's trained. He needs to skate happy and this is the best way for him to be happy! As long as Jason can skate his skate at World's his placement doesn't matter. He's already proved himself. He had nothing left to prove!
 
Just thought you folk would like to know, Jason is current doing the Notte Stellata show (yesterday, today and tomorrow) and while I am no expert, he looks great to me, healthy and happy and skating wonderfully.
