Jason Brown | Page 91 | Golden Skate

Jason Brown

Thanks, golden! I love reading his blog entries - I do wonder, though... has he been told to focus entirely on Team USA? I'm just curious, because... All right, I'm just curious. :) And I'd love to know what he's seen and what he thought and so on... There - I confess! :)

I did think of Elladj's and Jason's ponytails as - as chance would have it - they skated after each other in the SP. That was a fun coincidence. :)

Watched both Eliadj and Jason on archived stream, and also noticed the ponytails; and they are also (IMO) both charismatic performers. Eliadj might have more trouble with his ponytail. Then again, we all know that it's Rohene who takes the most time to work with his hair.

Also, unlike some comments I have seen, I  the R&B music and the blues music to which Eliadj and Jason are skating, independently of their skating. The music for T&I: *that* Jason will need to sell, for me to like it.

Will not be near a computer for the FS, so the archive will need to do for that as well.

I was wondering if he has a ghost writer or editor for those comments. The stuff about his parents and food and how great everything is sounds like his previous blogs. Some of the stuff about how Team USA did and about the judging seems to be written in a slightly different style. Could be my imagination.....

I don't think that at all - on the contrary. He probably writes as he thinks - so writing about those topics, he probably expresses himself very similarly. I doubt he is consciously trying to write "stylistically" and so differentiate what he may have writen previously on some other blog post.

A funny/strange thing happened to me once... I had been thinking something, and, as chance would have it, I happened to be browsing my old diaries.... and found almost word for word that same thought written down... several years previously.... and of which I had no recollection at all!

You totally could be right - it was just an odd thought I had.....

Good morning! Watching Jason's Tristan et Iseult has already made today a very good day!

Oh, and I wanted to add: I LOVE his hair this way. It's beautiful. I was just looking at it and thinking, if I had been asked to describe its colour before today, I would have gone for "honey". But...is it just me, or has he got a bit of ginger going on? it's gorgeous!

Quotes from Jason in the IN recap of the Nebelhorn FS:

"I was definitely excited to do my first international competition after the Olympics," said Brown, who was ninth at the Sochi Olympic Winter Games. "I was conservative and focused on the elements. I was excited that I could show everything."
The 19-year-old skater, who trains in Monument, Colorado, under Kori Ade, credited Ward with helping him gain such high program component scores.
"I love playing characters and having a theme (in my programs), and Rohene knows this," Brown said. "When he played ["Tristan and Isolde"] for me, I fell in love with the music right away. I like being theatrical and powerful, and this is why we went in this direction. If I feel the music when I skate. The public likes it as well."

I love it too-- half down, the braid...now it all makes sense!!

:);)

This whole turning ginger on us. . . my better half is a ginger. . . he also had long hair at that age. . . and has said it was very similar. . . he has also been calling Jason a ginger since nationals. . . I used to think he was being generous. . . but, I guess he saw something familiar. It really has been creeping in more and more. It was starting to show back in July. . . as it was rather bright in the sun.

. . . has anyone got a good clear look at the back of his hair and his braids? The stream . . . was not great for him. . . maybe too many people tuning in. I want to get a better look. It work much better than i was first worrying when I heard the gossip. I also love the playful way to respond to people who have told him to get rid of the pony tail. . . . ok here you go!

Agree with LRK. I also have had the experience of phrasing something a certain way once, and later unconsciously repeating almost the same wording without any intention of doing so. (Sometimes I find myself doing so on GS  when an old topic resurfaces.)

Perhaps Jason is writing each day's installment in bits and pieces, which account for the slight differences in style to your eyes??

I am now looking up ginger hair color on the internet. I think I could rock a darker version like this one: http://realhairstyles.net/2010/09/

Though I think I might be too tan! Jason and Emma Stone are both fair skinned!

I have a hair appointment in 1.5 weeks, so finding the right hair color is top of mind right now...

I totally didn't remember that. I just liked her hair color in the photo.

It's actually not that far off from mine. Mine is sorta between how Julia Roberts look on the box art/poster for pretty women and how her hair looked in the movie. Forms of red are a fun color. I am glad it is tending up for guys especially. . . there was actually a recent photo exhibit in New York featuring exclusivity ginger male models.

. . . yes with the cats that makes us a household of five gingers. . . we have to match!

I have dark brown hair. I've had blonde highlights in the past and it works well when I'm less tan in the winter months. I'm not super dark, but I am not fair skinned.

I am feeling red for fall, so this discussion is quite applicable.

Well mine is natural so I can't give you many tips. . . im one of those buy the lightest foundation the brand has and hope it is not too dark pale people, but one nice thing about the darker more auburns is you can sometimes (at least I seem to) get away with more colors of clothing than the more ginger kitty color. I can't wear pink to save my life, but can actually do ok in red, does not flatter the hair color, but does not make me look like a walking corpse like pink does.

One thing i will say from the other half's pov, he pays attention to if eyebrows match especially with redheads.

Another thing about the darker sides, is if you want you can try using henna. Henna actually is sometimes called a conditons (though others have argued, so who knows) but is it also temporary. It does not lighten, only adds red tones, so if you hate it, you don't have to worry about roots and fixing it, just wash it extra. Some women with brown to dark brown hair have great luck with it.

I will probably opt for burgundy or something like that.

I've been growing out my hair, so been having fun exploring hair styles I haven't considered previously..

Could be. I can't put my finger on it but the difference is more in syntax than anything else. Anyway, I guess it's not too important.
