Javier Fernandez

I keep rewatching his programs and they're just so beautiful :luv17: I absolutely adore how light on his feet he is. The guy deserves to be called a legend :hap10:

FS Comment

S: This season’s he’s got a couple of very good programs, both SP and LP. He lives them and he seems comfortable
P: On that Malagueña, by Paco Delucia and Placido Domingo, choreographed by Antonio Najarro…
P: 302.77 he goes into 1st place. And, to respect their rivals, we have to see what Maxim Kovtun and Michal Brezina do. But he’s got the 4th European Title already, Javier Fernandez.

Thanks!
It was certain he would win the title before the remaining skaters!
Like they commented, this season he brings two great programs. This year, apparently, he gets aura more and his skating skale gets bigger. I'm happy to see such Javi.
From his best friend and skating wife... "Welcome to 300 world, Javi"

This is an article on the newspaper Marca about Javi, the title is : Get ready, Hanyu!( I think this words were saying by Javi, though this newspaper sometimes exagerates too much...) http://www.marca.com/deportes-invierno/2016/02/01/56af55c8ca4741ab598b45e0.html
Worlds is going to be super interesting between these two:yahoo: They really push each other to improve.

 Yeah, the newspaper title says "Get ready, Hanyu" But in the article itself, Javi's quoted as saying "Get ready, Yuzu. Because I'm going in full force for Worlds" I suppose because it's more common for people to be referred with the surname than with the name, let alone a variation of the name such as "Yuzu" :p

Thank you so much for sharing it!

Would you translate for us what our World and European Champion says? You have done wonderful jobs.

As to the title, I think it's what the newspaper says whereas the direct quote is Javi addressing Hanyu via the interview. Different familiarity and etiquettes.

Sure thing :) The article actually talks about all the Spanish skaters at Euros, so I'm going to post what's related to Javi:

Evidently, the most outstanding result belongs to Javier Fernandez, who returns from the Slovak lands with a double reward: an historic 4th consecutive gold medal and extra motivation for the Big Event of the season. "I've upped the level to get closer to Yuzuru Hanyu's WR and I've proven that I can still give more. Get ready, Yuzu, because I'm going in with everything (I have) for Worlds." he said with rotundity. (I think this is a more accurate translation)

Even though he finished his competitions on Thursday, the Madrid-native has not had a free minute. During these days, he has not stopped giving interviews, attending appointments, and signing thousands of autographs. The public's demand was so great that, in an exceptional way, the organization asked him to do several fan-meetings, being the only skater who was asked this petition. "I'm very tired right now, I need to rest", he acknowledged.

I"m glad for him that he is being recognized more and more for what he has done for figure skating in Spain and elsewhere. I think over the last year and a bit he's learned that all that hard work he is now doing is rewarding him and he's getting excellent scores. With those great results comes more and more opportunity which helps him in so many ways. On the other side of that, though, is that fatigue he mentions. It can be tricky to manage that, but I'm sure that once the shows in Europe are done and he has a bit of a rest, he will focus on training properly for World's where he will (hopefully) be at his best.

You and Yuzuru are very good teammates. Are you in touch also when you are at a competition? Does he write you a message when you win, for instance, the Europeans?
Well… No. We are friends, we are teammates, but it’s not like we talk everyday. When he is somewhere in Japan, we don’t chat, we don’t talk. Whenever I go to Toronto, and he is there, I will congratulate him about his Nationals, tell him he was amazing. It’s more like that instead of texting. That works more with Nam (Nguyen).
:sad21:
not the answer i was hoping to read  well, they are both concentrated on their career now, they can do all that and more after they retire
