Javier Fernandez

Javi has presented his Revolution On Ice Tour, with shows in Pamplona (November, 10th), Málaga (November, 17th) and Madrid (December, 29th). The tickets are already for sale.

Our new Javi banner hasn't gone unnoticed in Milano: posted all over social media by Hielo Espanol pretty much a few minutes after we hang them up (we added the old ones for good measure), and then seen by the man himself, as evidenced by his like on Instagram.

Oooooooooooo!!!!!! All of them are lovely, but the new one is simply stunning. From the message to featuring all his iconic programs (even his breakout I Love Paris, Petit Fleur!)...:sad21:

Thank you! It was actually quite a tough decision which programs and which images to include! :luv17: Javi has such an incredible body of work, and these are all, as you said, iconic programs that left their mark on the sport. But the most fascinating in all of them is the character Javi imbued them with. He has become the essence of this sport in a way I think very few skaters ever have.

Loved all the links!! Thank you so much!!

I really hope what we saw today isn't a peek on what will happen on a Yuzu, Patrick, Javi-less field, and that it was just a bad day all around...

Oh, my beloved fellow Javi fans, I have been scolded for abandoning the thread, but have to defend myself with a busy period at work. And with the total horror of realizing that Javi's competitive career is now probably over. Despite the wonderful Olympic result, I have felt like a punctured balloon. The thought of coming here in Milan for the first competition without Javi since Europeans 2015 made me literally feel sick.

But it has been much better than expected thanks particularly to Troika Javi! ❤ This year, I have spent an incredible amount of time with them online and then travelling around the world trying to catch Javi in as many competitions as possible. THANK YOU, ladies, for a remarkable season!!

Tureis did the third, "We miss you" banner and it turned out to be the most brilliant idea overall - I think it started a bit of a trend here...😁

We have now become pros in hanging banners, I think. The first time in Jaca involved no particular problems except trying to figure out a place - it was a rink with stands only on one side so the banners were seen only by judges, skaters and others who got to that side. Tureis brought bits of yarn and I had scissors... In Moscow, we had to sneak to the upper levels behind guards' back and were almost locked up in the empty area! But technically it was an easy performance... Here in Milan, the organizers were supposed to hang up the banners but did not get around doing it in time, ie before Brian and Tracy showed up in the ladies short... Luckily, we got the banners back and managed to improvise even yarn! They were hung neatly next to each other in a well visible place and they got the attention they deserved.

It was also amazing to have those Javi moments with The Man so far away from Milan... First, the banners getting posted by Hielo Espanol, reposted by others and then realizing that Javi had seen them and hit likes on multiple occasions... But the biggest thing came the next day when he put up a little thank you note in an instastory that got us in a state of delirium for several hours. Mission accomplished, message delivered... Definitively painful to watch.
I kind of enjoy some of the groups but there wasn't any emotional crescendo, any expectation... and when the last group arrived... All I can say is that I have to force myself to watch it. :palmf:
We miss you Javi!!

I have almost recovered from the dreadfulness of the men's FS in Milano. That last group really was the most nightmarish sports event I've ever seen. :drama: I think I actually got to a point where I was blurting our curse words in at least two languages, maybe more loudly than people around me would have liked. But I have to say if the outcome is that the ISU will garbage the current system to bring the crazy technical risks being taken under control and reintroduce some sort of balance between the athletic and artistic aspects, then it may have all been worth it...

But more importantly, I'm happy to report that ticket sales for Revolution on Ice directly through revolutiononice.com have been successfully tested! :yay: Buying general admission tickets (from EUR 17.25 to EUR 73.78) from abroad was straightforward with credit/debit card payment from the beginning, but this option for the VIP category (1st row seat which also includes a meet & greet pass) has only recently been enabled. I still had to get those the hard way, by eventually calling El Corte Inglés ticket sales and doing the whole thing over the phone. Thankfully someone spoke English so I didn't have to terrorize them with my Spanish. :rofl2:

So hopefully no more hassle, but in case anybody runs into any trouble, this is the phone number to El Corte Inglés ticket sales: +34 915 40 47 00

Oh and BTW, Javi's team was also super helpful and responded to emails professionally and in perfect English. And I do mean perfect! :agree:

And speaking of, here's the really cool full promo video of the tour.

I've been lurking on and off for a while, but my need for all things Javi has finally forced me out! I am slowly going through the old posts, and thanks to you all for so many years of posting great content! It's fun to go back and see Javi's fans reactions to his rise through the ranks in figure skating. I *almost* convinced myself to fly to Canada to catch a Stars on Ice show, but I think I'll need to wait to see what he does next year. Can I start rooting for a seventh Europeans title now?

Yes you can!!
His motivation seems to be far away from competitions these days, I think he's gonna need a lot of support for coming back next year... you are wellcome to the club!!

I am fine with him just coming back for Europeans, as he does seem to want that, at least, if he can make it work with reduced training. Fingers crossed!

I've been lurking here for a while, too. But theGourmez's post today convinced me to finally create an account and "officially" become a fan :) ... It is really amazing to read the old posts and relive everything again.
(I'm still mentally slapping myself that I didn't go to Europeans in 2017 when it was just a (seven-hours) train ride away, so instead I'll fly across half Europe for Revolution on Ice :) ).

Welcome, welcome to Javi's thread! Even though competitively speaking, Javi is on his last few events, there's still so much to talk about regarding his progress as coach, his ice show tours and all the work he puts in to place figure skating in the map for Spain. So it's great to have more people to join in the conversation! It seems like he really does want that Euros title so I hope he keeps this motivation the following months and aim for a historic 7th consecutive title!
Also, a bit off topic but I would love to see him with the plaque TCC has added because of his Olympic Bronze Medal

Somebody knows who will be the skaters attending Revolution on Ice? :)

I don’t think the line up has been revealed yet :( since they will be mid season it might be hard to get active figure skaters, but many who attended two years ago are retiring so they could show up again
