Javier Fernandez

Curious to see what it looks like - the few tidbits that have come out in social media are not excatly forthcoming.

70 for TES and 87 for PCS with a total of 157,86. The layout looks like this: 4T, 3S-3T, 3A-3T, CSSp, 1A, 3Lo-2T, 3Lz, 3F?, FCCoSp, StSq, CCoSp. The first combo could be 4S-3T in the end, but it seems that at this point he is not even trying 3 quads (well, the single 4S was really not there last season either, so...). A couple of pics here. Still using his old boots.

Hielo español has posted an article about Javi's participation in JO and his inmediate plans: return to Toronto for working in his new SP (and if he has enough time, a new FP), before come back to Spain for RoI.

That is good news, will look for ward to TCC pics :) He's been missed...

Hmmm, Javi was hanging out with the Spanish National Football Team (a FB video, YT link here). As mentioned Effie arrived in Spain (one way or another - do animals have to stay quaranteened these days when moving from one place to another?).

So, what I want to know is when exactly is he going to go to Toronto?? About a month before the first ROI show and the clock is ticking away his training time...

No quarantine these days if he has followed certain rules: https://www.pettravel.com/immigration/Spain.cfm

Me too would like to know when he´ll go to Canada to get his new sp choreography. Hopefully Javier will not underestimate his rivals at the Europeans? Kolyada and some others will be tough to beat now, in my opinion.

I wonder if Javi had to make a detour to Spain because of La Liga's sponsorship requirements... Or did it have something to do with ROI? The timing does seem a bit unfortunate. Well, for all we know he could already be in Toronto or on his way there.

The visit to Las Rozas (the team's training grounds) was even reported on national news. I don't know if this was the reason for him coming back to Spain before going to Canada and it does not seem to be connected with the LaLiga4Sports stuff (they are usually always clearly indicated). But if they wanted positive PR for him, they sure got it. (And Javi got to fanboy wholeheartedly. :luv17:)

The Canadian Thanksgiving was yesterday and it could have also been a reason for detouring to Spain. Who knows... We'll have to be patient and see what happens (but it is so very hard).

And yeah, if he wants to get on the top podium at Euros for that 7th time, he really has to deliver - Kolyada particularly has been looking good (and the judges seem to love him unanimously), but also who knows what the others might get to by that time. JO was not half bad considering that he has had minimal training time before it, but the Europeans will be a whole different thing. Particularly with a new program - I hope he uses it as a show program at ROI like he did with Modern Times and Black Betty in previous years to get some runthroughs for it.

Not sure if it's due to Thanksgiving (I remember an interview with Brian where he said that TCC is only closed on one day of the year: Christmas 😂. And looks like yesterday it was business as usual too).

Kolyada, Aliev and others are looking strong indeed, I'm sure Javi is aware of it. It's not going to be easy at all for hin this time around. I'd sure love to see him win it another time, but I guess his priorities are now a bit divided at the moment. I'm still crossing fingers he can make it work somehow... or maybe even change his mind and compete for a little while longer 🙈 (but that's just wishful thinking, I know).

In the US airports around Thanksgiving are really crowded and tons of traffic in the roads so you would want to avoid traveling During that time if you can. I would imagine Canada is similar. He has moved back to Spain permanently now hasn't he? So maybe he just wanted to go home to regroup or pack. I'm sure everyone at tcc is excited to see him. It sounds like he's really been missed.

Plushenko, I'm 99% sure :)

ITA with Plushenko, and I'm also thinking Tessa and Scott, Patrick, Meagan and Eric, Misha, Miki, Anna P, Madison and Zach, Adri and Olivia, Stephane, Maia and Alex. Zhenya was there last year but I figure her priority this season will be training.
Javi is good friends with so many skaters and many retired last season or are taking some time off so the possibilities are endless!

I would also add Anna Cappelllini and Luca Lanotte. And what about Ondřej (sadly, without Vale) doing backflips?

Javi said that the cast won't be the same for all the events. The Canadians still have their Thank you Canada tour in November..., but I expect them in December!

Out of all skaters - besides Javi of course - I would love to see the Shibs the most. And Zhenya, but she probably has other priorities. What about Adam Rippon though? Or Nobu! The probability is not too high... but a girl can dream ;)

Can't wait to see the list! I suspect also that the bomb will be Plushenko, but I would not mind seeing Tessa and Scott...

Javi still in Madrid - a pic from today hanging out with fellow Madrid winter athletes https://www.instagram.com/p/Bow3-WtBJSr/?utm_source=ig_share_sheet&igshid=yk27kdzc9zbb Another in his IG story.

With the ROI announcement next week, he really does not have very much time to go to Toronto before the November shows...

Hielo Español gives us a clue about "the bomb": it's somebody who never has skated in Spain. And announces a new star for the tour who was added at the last minute.

Okay so for me that narrows it down to Plushenko and Tessa and Scott...it could be both of them since they said it could be referred to as singles or plural.
