The end of the week finally arrived, and I decided to pour myself a glass of red wine and try and collect at least some of the events in the past two weeks.
So,
David and Sandra worked with Elladj Balde and Yuka Sato in Canada on their ROI choreos before
hopping on a plane to Madrid. The first weekend might have been used also partially to talk about (maybe even do?) Javi’s possible competition programs – however, no info has been leaked on that so far.
Last week they worked in
Madrid with the
Revolutionettes and Javi and
at probably also Elladj Balde. Javi visited
the local club also. It seems they also planned the group routines etc. –
David being apparently very happy about a chance of working with
Sandra on this!
During the week Javi
visited the head of tourism of Madrid – he has been an ambassador for the city for a couple of years. On the same day, got a bite to eat and into the
place’s social media
He also did something in a recording
studio with Carlos Jean – did not try to sing, though.
During the weekend, a bit of (deserved) downtime for Javi – out at
Premios 40 (looks like some kind of music event) with Marina (I was getting a little worried – it had been more than two weeks from the previous relationship update!).
On Monday they set out to Pamplona on a bus –
Anna and Luca, the Revolutionettes,
Yuka Sato, Javi. The
bus had ROI tapes on its sides! Yuka Sato posted an IG story on the way with
Javi entertaining the travellers (plus I love the ROI care package with a small dictionary on useful phrases in Spanish and Euskera or Basque that is. Nice to see the fellow non-indoeuropean lingo featured, says the native Finnish speaker.)
In the evening the entire cast (minus Plushenko) got
together for dinner before getting into serious work the next day. They worked at a local rink which was apparently very cold –
ROI provided also toques. All week there have been bits and pieces from practices. Lots of clips from
building the rink with all the lights, and whatever they need to do to pull off a show with several live music acts, skating and acrobats. The Zamboni has ROI tapes over it. Everybody does crazy amounts of social media. There was also a hint of a TV broadcast.
On Tuesday, Javi and the director Jesus Rodriguez gave a press conference with plenty of photos, clips, articles.
Navarra Arena,

On Wednesday, he visited the local football team CA Osasuna training grounds (LaLiga is one of the sponsors of the tour after all). Javi got to show off his head game as well as got pro tips from Roberto Torres on his penalty kicks. Who also got to visit the arena, but did not get to wear skates (which is lame, but I could imagine they would not wanna show how bad people would be at skating first time ever after Javi basically killing it on the football field.) Stories and videos a plenty again.
Marca,
Diario de Navarra,
Radio Marca,
Radio cadena SER,
Navarra Sport,
Gonzalo Vesco Muro, and LaLiga4Sports twice:

two.
Also, a phone interview for
Onda Cero at some point.
He did get on ice at some point because the
girls got to lift him.
I think on Thursday he got to do a bit more skating. Plushenko maybe arrived on Friday (on ice on Saturday morning finally – he is not taking part in the group routines, I guess). Also, music director
Carlos Jean, MC David Moreno, the musicians etc. are busy getting ready for their parts. To round off the week on Friday evening, rehearsal and also the
final presser. Which resulted in further clips and articles etc.
Noticias de Navarra,
AS,
Navarra Arena, and
RTVE.
Today, a dress rehearsal before the show. It seems that there will be a number based on a certain famous gentleman involving Anna & Luca as well as Javi and the Revolutionettes (and
the surprise is…). There will be
some bullfighting, an ensemble
routine to Aranjuez Concerto ending with fighting the windmills and wooing Dulcinea. Yuka Sato and the Revolutionettes will perform with Eva Ruiz, but other possible collaborations have not yet been revealed. I count Javi’s solos at 3 at the moment and sure hope there will be that 4th one featuring that Spanish singer and that song.
A message from Javi for the
Navarra Arena, for
4K eventos and for LaLiga4Sports with a visit to
the local football pitch.
The cast from
Anna Cappellini.
And the absolute best news is:
PAMPLONA IS SOLD OUT!!!! (Already on Friday morning!)
Showtime is now just a couple of hours away, but I love seeing all the social media posts by people wishing luck and, most importantly, people getting ready or already on their way to Navarra Arena. Break a leg, in bocca a lupo and onnea esitykseen, guys!
