My goodness! I was that busy making out my predictions for Worlds that I forgot to do the reminder post!

Jenni will be competing in the Senior World Championships today.

The Ladies SP is due to start at 11:10:00 CET (16:10:00 EDT / 10:10:00 GMT / 12:10:00 EET). So 3 hours from now.

Jenni will be the 5th skater to start. So, last skater in Group 1.

She is due to start at 11:43:05 CET (10:43:05 GMT / 12:43:05 EET). So 3h 33m from now.

But, those times may change if somebody that is due on before her withdraws.

Jenni finished 25th out of 33 in the SP, with a score of 55.30.

Here is what I wrote in the competition thread at the time:

Hand down on the opening Triple Toe-Triple Toe, then a fall on the Triple Salchow.

But the Double Axel was just beautiful! As was everything else.

And then to compound things, she finishes after the music.

Oh, such a pity about the start. Because the rest of it looked so good.

She looked so disappointed when she finished, and when she was coming off the ice.

Just after she finished, Chris said he doesn't think she'll make it through.

The female coach has, erm, interesting trousers!

Into 4th out of 5.

As we could all see, it was the first two elements that were the problem. For the opening combination, she got minuses all round. She got -1.14 in GOE, and for the Judges marks she got two -4's; three -3's; three -2's; and one -1. And for the Salchow that she fell on, it was -2.15 in GOE, and -5's from all the Judges. But, the one saving grace was that she did land on the correct quarter before going down.

The heartbreaking thing is that she actually scored very well for all her remaining elements. All of them were given pretty good positive GOE scores. In terms of Judges marks, she only got three -1's and three 0's. Everything else was positive. It should be noted that two of the -1's and one of the zeros came from Judge 1, TING Ko-Man from Taiwan, who consistently marked lower than the other judges on all of Jenni's elements.

The irony is that the skater from Taiwan, TING Tzu-Han, finished 1 place and 0.06 points behind Jenni.

Unfortunately, Chris proved to be correct - Jenni didn't make it through to the Free Skate. She was just 1 place and 0.41 points behind the last Qualifier. So, close! 😞

Jenni is currently 0.41 points behind 24th position, Natasha McKAY (GBR), and 0.06 points ahead of 26th position, TING Tzu-Han (TPE). They are part of a much larger group that stretches from Lindsay van ZUNDERT (NED) in 18th position, 3.19 points ahead of Jenni, down to Marilena KITROMILIS (CYP) in 30th position, 1.98 points behind Jenni. Within this group, 6 skaters are covered by less than 1 point! Daša GRM (SVN) in 23rd position is 0.52 points ahead of Jenni, while Alexandra FEIGIN (BUL) in 28th position is 0.29 points behind Jenni.

Such a pity about those first two elements. She would have been easily through to the Free Skate otherwise.

Nevertheless, if you pretend that the first minute of the programme didn't happen, it was a VERY good skate for Jenni. So...

:cheer: WELL DONE JENNI!!! :cheer:

Jenni finished 11th out of 29 in the SP, with a score of 51.60.

Here is what I wrote in the competition thread at the time:

Beautiful programme as always.

There were some music issues at the start, but I'm not sure what they were. It was the correct music. Maybe it just started playing in the wrong position.

It was Jenni's first outing of the season and, if I am totally honest, it showed. She did look a bit rusty.

She had one fall early on in the programme.

Being the first skater out, she unsurprisingly takes the lead. But, it will be interesting to see where she is at the end of this group, as some of the favourites are also starting very early. Not least the next skater.

:cheer: WELL DONE JENNI!!! :cheer:

Analysis to be edited in when I get the chance to re-watch the video with the protocols.

Jenni is currently 0.85 points behind 10th position, KIM Min-Chae (KOR), and 0.41 points ahead of 12th position, Nataly LANGERBAUR (EST). All three are part of a larger group where 10 skaters were covered by 6.47 points, from Kaiya RUITER (CAN) in 6th position, 3.76 points ahead of Jenni, down to Emily SAARI (AUT) in 15th position, 2.71 points behind Jenni.

All of which means that there is a LOT of potential for movement within this group. Hopefully Jenni will not have the same problems with her new FS that she did last season's FS. Because, with so many skaters in close proximity, she will need to put in a good performance to make sure that she goes up rather than down.

:cheer: WELL DONE!!! :cheer:

The Senior Ladies FS is due to start today at 11:45:00 CET (10:45:00 GMT / 12:45:00 EET). So 4 hours from now.

Jenni will be the 19th skater to start. So, second skater to go in Group 4.

The Group 4 Warm-Up is due to start at 14:16:00 CET (13:16:00 GMT / 15:16:00 EET). So 7h 31m from now.

Jenni is due to start at 14:30:00 CET (13:30:00 GMT / 15:30:00 EET). So 7h 15m from now.

But, those times may change if somebody that is due on before her withdraws.

Jenni finished 10th out of 29 in the FS, with a score of 101.68. This meant that she dropped to 12th place overall, with a score of 153.28.

Here is what I wrote in the competition thread at the time:

I don't think I've ever seen anybody skating to that song before. But, now that I have, I hope more people do!!!

And that guitar solo in the final stages of the programme!

Jenni had a fall just after the half-way point, and a pop near the end. But, apart from that, she was good! For me, it was better than the SP.

I commented yeterday that she looked a bit rusty. Well, she didn't today!

Into 3rd position.

:cheer: WELL DONE JENNI!!! :cheer:

Analysis to be edited in when I have the opportunity to re-watch the programme with the protocols.

Jenni finished the Free Skate 0.31 points behind 9th position, YUN Ah-Sun (KOR), and 1.60 points ahead of 11th position, Stefanie PESENDORFER (AUT). All three are part of a larger group where 6 skaters were covered by 4.12 points, from Livia KAISER (CHE) in 7th position, 1.66 points ahead of Jenni, down to Gracie GOLD (USA) in 12th position, 2.46 points behind Jenni.

Overall, Jenni finished 0.49 points behind 11th position, Sara-Maude DUPUIS (CAN), and 5.50 points ahead of 13th position, Kristen SPOURS (GBR). Jenni was at the bottom of a group of 4 skaters covered by 0.94 points, which stretched up to Gold in 9th position.

You know, it's at times like this that I wish Jenni had started her season earlier. Even if it was in a domestic competition. Because you could see she was rusty in the SP. But, she was back in the swing of things for the FS. And ideally she would have wanted to have skated the best that she could in the run up to what will probably be the most meaningful event of her skating career so far.

Well, we don't have long to wait until we see Jenni again, as she will be making her Senior GP debut in her hometown in a couple of weeks.

:cheer: WELL DONE!!! :cheer:

Grand Prix Espoo Senior Ladies SP: Results; Protocols

No video uploaded yet 😞

Jenni finished 8th out of 12 in the SP, with a score of 59.69.

Here is what I wrote in the competition thread at the time:

That's 2 of my kids have made their Senior GP debuts at their home rink this season, and so far Jenni is managing better.

Definitely a big improvement on what she did in the SP in Graz a couple of weeks ago! You could tell it was her first competition of the season, because she looked rusty in the SP. But, she looked anything but rusty today!

That was just beautiful!!!

Into 2nd, just 0.95 points behind current leader, Bradie Tennell.

:cheer: WELL DONE JENNI!!! :cheer:

CaroLiza_fan

Analysis to be edited in when I get the chance to re-watch the programme with the protocols.

Jenni is currently 0.95 points behind 7th position, Bradie TENNELL (USA), and 3.66 points ahead of 9th position, Anastasiia GUBANOVA (GEO). Ahead of Tennell is a 3.43 point gap to 6th position, Rika KIHIRA (JPN), who is at the bottom of a group of 3 skaters covered by 1.68 points. This group is headed by Lindsay THORNGREN (USA) in 4th position, 6.06 points ahead of Jenni.

If she puts in a very good Free Skate, there is a chance that Jenni could infiltrate the group ahead of her and Bradie. Especially if any of the skaters in that group make mistakes. But, in all probabilty, Jenni's fight will be with Bradie over 7th and 8th positions.

Oh, I hope the occasion doesn't get the better of Jenni, and that the Free Skate goes as well here as it did in Graz.

:cheer: WELL DONE!!! :cheer:

The Senior Ladies FS is due to start today at 14:21:00 EET (12:21:00 GMT). So 6 hours from now.

Jenni will be the 5th skater to start. So, fifth and penultimate skater to go in Group 1.

The Group 4 Warm-Up is due to start at 14:21:00 EET (12:21:00 GMT). So 6 hours from now.

Jenni is due to start at 14:59:45 EET (12:59:45 GMT). So 6h 38m from now.

But, those times may change if somebody that is due on before her withdraws.
