I sometimes wonder about the strategy of various countries with JGP assignments. Here's what's currently bothering me.
Amber Glenn got 3rd at JGP Courchevel. While I think this was a disappointment from what she wanted, all in all, it's not a bad placement. But I notice USFSA has pulled her from her second assignment. Right now she doesn't have a second JGP assignment, with only one event (Croatia) left to assign:

Now, I'm assuming USFSA could shuffle things around if some other ladies don't make the podium in future events. I assume that they'll want to maximize the chances that a skater gets to the JGP Final. But is this a vote of no confidence in Amber, or something? Or is it more about they've looked at the list of competitors in other events and are trying to get her against a weaker field or something? Help me figure this out!
