Jia Shin

She will be senior for the Olympic season. I cannot wait to see her senior debut.
It’s a big deal! I thought she handled last season in such a mature way. I believe she will do just fine in seniors. I’ve also been wondering if any junior skater besides Jia has ever won 4 consecutive JWC silver, or 4 medals of any color. I know this is partly because of raising the age to enter seniors, but it’s history making and it was astonishing to watch.

After four consecutive Junior Worlds silver medals, Korea’s Jia Shin is stepping into a bold new chapter. With two emotionally powerful programs, a return to training in Seoul, and a deeper artistic focus, she’s ready to leave her mark on the senior stage. 💫🇰🇷⛸️

📍 Senior debut: 2025 Cranberry Cup 🇺🇸
📍 Grand Prix debut: 2025 Cup of China 🇨🇳

Congratulations to Jia for skating so clean technically with lovely loft and beautiful fluidity and smooth flow in her jumps and step sequences, and such expressive artistry at the Ranking competition. Truly impressive performances! Here are great videos of Jia's short program and freeskate in stunning quality: Short Program: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xsSlOft0GDQ Freeskate: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjhGR-42EfQ

Congratulations to Jia Shin on her victory at Korean Nationals with such beautiful performances featuring buttery smooth blade work full of expressive grace, deceptive speed and smooth fluidity in movement with lovely extensions attuned to the mood of the music, lofty jumps and gritty determination and strength holding onto the triple flip in the long. The fist pumps at the end while smiling really showed her steely resolve and deep sense of satisfaction that she had succeeded. The videos were hard to find so I compiled the best ones I came across below. I really hope Jia keeps her consistency and gives great performances like this and at the Ranking Competition when she skates at 4CC's, the Olymipics and Worlds.

It took me almost 3 days to find a video of Jia Shin's Olympic LP but I am really happy I did because she delivered my favorite performance of the Olympics such depth of artistic expression and emotional resonance with excellent height and beautiful air position, flow and transitions in and out of her jumps. especially the leg lift into her final triple lutz and my favorite triple lutz / triple toe combo. She also had lovely flowing arm and body movements marvelousy attuned to the music while skating light and fast over the ice with massive rink coverage and wide sweeping turns near the boards that brings the audience into the performance. My eyes even started to water up towards the end because it was so beautiful. In case anyone else is having difficulty finding it, here is a link: https://youtu.be/rmjdM13lZME?t=5980

Jia Shin explores a more mature path for 2026–27

In a recent interview with Golden Skate, Shin discussed choosing the music, working with Shae-Lynn Bourne for the first time, reuniting with Jeffrey Buttle, and adapting to the ISU's new rules, including the Choreo Spin.
