Unfortunately this is not online, but I just saw a photo of Anthony Dowell and John Curry looking resplendant in top hat and white tie (mid-arm up) after their performances in Top Hat in 1979. It is in a book called Ten Dancers, On stage, backstage, at home, and on the road. It's worth looking up in the library. I'm about to deface this book and have it framed.

Do you really want to deprive other people of making the same discovery!? I suggest you hit the used book sites and get your own personal copy.

I think Hockeyfan was only joking.

Hockeyfan - I will look for that book. I would love to have seen the dance live.

I'm about to deface my own copy, which I bought from a used bookstore through Alibris.

I suggested that others go to the library, because it's not online.

And what a tragedy that the world lost John Curry to AIDS in 1991. He was truly one of the most elegant, artistic men to ever lace up skates. I still remember his glorious long program at the 1976 Winter Olympics, and the ease in which he landed his triple jumps and spins. What a performance!! He deserved all 6.0s in presentation, as far as I'm concerned.

I was lucky enough to see both of his shows in 1984 at the Metropolitan Opera House -- the stage was made into a rink -- and it was a privilege.

I was fortunate to see John Curry´s skating live on the tour of champions in Helsinki. I´m not sure about the year, either 1975 or 1976, I think. Anyway I still remember how disappointed I was as he did not perform to something beautiful and balletic... He was wearing a striped T-shirt with black pants and skated to some "fun" number, LOL.

John Curry was my first favourite in men´s skating. What a great skater he was!!!
