Joubert still miffed about worlds finish

Michelle did a little more than skate, jump, wave your hands in the air, rinse and repeat. I see a lot more of this type of skating
now than under the 6.0 system.

Not during the first half of her programs she didn't. Transitions, if any, were few and far between. Around the half way point, you would then be treated to THE spiral, perhaps a split falling leaf, and the usual orgasmic footwork sequence...

Whatever. I am not going to debate Michelle's skating with you. Her record speaks for itself. Sport is subjective and you have your opinion and I have mine. Over and out.

It's no fun criticizing the same skater for an entire thread! Clearly people want to branch out

This was never a debate.

Originally, it was a joke/comment about Plushy being off the podium at Torino because he was dinged for have a front loaded program, with very litte choreography/transitions. From 2001 on, MK's programs (no matter how gracefully/passionately she skated them,) were front loaded, while increasingly stripped of choreography/transitions. The joke about Plushy's program made me think about Michelle.

You reacted, and got defensive...

Did you ever think about starting a new thread featuring the skater of your choice for news if not criticism?

Try it. I think you will get the appropriate response even a comparison to Michelle. ;)

 Boy, I go out of town for two days and I almost missed a good Michelle dust-up! That deserves a poem:

Michelle, Michelle,
You do crossovers so well!
I also like your triple filp,
So don't let anyone on this board give you any lip! ;)

Joe, you must have misunderstood! I was suggesting a reason for the new direction of this thread, not bemoaning the lack of MK and/or Plushy criticism on other threads. Look at my posts here - I'm almost always on topic!

It's just that I, personally, get tired of reading about former skaters being compared with present day skaters unless it is relevant to the main topic. In this case Brian Joubert is the main topic, and I don't see from what I read any relevancy to compare his presumed unhappiness about his second place in the recent Worlds.

However, I'm just as guilty as the next in carrying on with a new direction. I don't see anything wrong with the sub topic but in most cases, it could stand on it own as a separate topic.

Appologies, Buttercup.

Joe
