What happened about Stepanova / Bukin's twiizles
He fell, got back up and then stumbled out of it. It was a very strong dance otherwise.
I thought it was a strong event. I really enjoyed the top four.
Sinitsina/Zhingashin - Lovely and a deserved lead. I was impressed by the speed they seemed to carry in their final step sequence. Was it as fast live as it seemed on video?
Yanovskaia/Mozgov - They've improved leaps and bounds since their first JGP event. It's great that they made the JGPF as a brand new team. They're really not my favorites, but they have good potential, nice basics and look promising. You can tell they're new-ish to each other, but it was a solid skate.
Nosulia/Kholoniuk - Loved this team! They are just fun and musical. I'd love to see them podium here. It's nice that the Ukraine has a promising young team.
Stepanova/Bukin - It's a shame about the fall I think he's a very good ice dancer. Together, they come across as really powerful and striking on the ice. I love their FD and hope they move up. That said, Stepanova looks like she's taking tanning advice from Riazanova
Aldridge/Eaton - I think they were a notch below the top four teams. Their pattern seemed sloppy. Not that any of these teams struck me as particularly Latin, but compared to the teams ahead of them, their dance seemed more posed and less natural. As in, "Hold your head like this. Carry your hands this way. Oooh, shimmying now!". She's quite striking and he fades into the background. I think their FD is a million times better than this program which I don't think is particularly good.
Galyeta/Shumski - Their marks continue to baffle me. I think they look old skool and not in a good way...
