Junior Ladies: Long Program

where is everyone?

I think the lack of a live stream accounts for it. When will the ISU wake up and smell the coffee? Do they not realise that the failure to provide live coverage is damaging the sports popularity.

Not even from Ice Network?

Shoji has surely fallen from being a top 5 contender. That free skate is about 30 points off her personal best. Something must be going on with her, or a growth spurt is creeping in.

I'm following but there's not much to say, is there?

Maybe this is the perfect moment to deliver my opinion about Gracie Gold. Ho hum... I like skaters with more elegance and dynamism, and find her, so far, very workmanlike and un-graceful. Even her famous jumps aren't pretty (she's no Yu Na). Oh well... maybe with time she'll pay more attention to the performance and get better programs and I'll warm up to her. Looks like I'll be seeing a lot of her...

Go, Julia, Christina, Adelina, Vanessa, and Katelyn!

its a growth spurt, I noticed her jumps have gotten smaller in height thus can't land them properly
and her hips has gotten fuller and her lower body

I kind of feel the same. Watching her SP she looks slowwww. But junior skaters usually are. I also think the programs are the big issue for me. That SP music of hers is just awful; it reminds me of that bizarre electronic music some of the Euro skaters performed to in the 1980s.

I think Gracie Gold is just using this competition as experience, I mean its the kids first real competition and shes got the pressure of a nation on her shoulders. (US Figure Skating Nation). She is not the most graceful/elegant, however I think that will come with better choreography, music and training. She has focused almost solely on her jumps in training, trying to get the technique down. She is the future of the U.S. skating whether she does well here or not. The fact that she has such strong jumps in her arsenal will push all the other women in the US to up the technical ante. She is a breath of fresh "fearless" air in regards to US skating and hopefully she will mature the way she needs to to win Gold in Sochi.
