An interesting question. As far as I can remember or find by a quick Internet search, only one skater has ever used music from Salome. :biggrin:

I havent watched all, I didnt expect so many videos of juniors to appear! Julia was amazing, she is a little diva

As for Adelina, her first part looked great but it is the end of the season and I still think this Lp didnt do Adelina any favor, this music so early in her career. Gracie is a lovely skater, first time I finally see her, her jumps are huge.
Highlight for me in the sp was Miyahara which amazed me but in the Lp, while she looks so pleasant to watch I m afraid she manages her jumps due to age and size and not technique, maybe I m wrong , it just looked this way.

I've just watched some of the videos. The first time I've seen Gracie. She's adorable. I liked her a lot. I was about to write smth like 'amazing' etc...but then I realized I see nothing but very solid jumps. No programme. She just goes from one jump to another. But on the whole I repeat, I liked her, it was nice watching her. Rewatched Yulia's video. She's much stronger in all aspects and she does have elegance and beauty, though she's two years younger and is less mature. Adelina is a disapointment this year due to her growing, hopefully she'll recover and find herself next season. Sad for Polina, I doubt that they'll send her to Worlds, Makarova has famous parents, Polina doesn't. She had her chances both at Russian Nationals and here, she blew them. That means she has poor mentality and has no right to compete. You can't get GOE and good PCS if you stumble in every competition.

Test skate will tell.I don't think that Makarova's parents have smth to do with her sending to Worlds

I don't think Polina has poor mentality. I think the pressure to prove herself in order to get a spot on the world team got the best of her in the SP, but she gave a nice fight in the LP and pulled herself together. Polina K messed up her SP as well at Euros(with 2 falls) and came back in the LP. Makarova has been a mess all season(except her SP at Nationals and Euros where she skated very very well) and I'm sure that if she doesn't dazzle at the test skate Polina can start to pack her bags. Remember at Nationals Ksenia had only 1 triple ratified, the technical specialist was very strict and I think the same thing will happen at the test skate.

Well, she obviously watched some major ISU events, at least on TV. Also, she has been on the podium in JGP and US JN. I am sure other medalists congratulated her.

thanks, I used to read all the threads almost every day, now I feel like posting as well. I LOVE THIS FORUM! I think it's the best figure skating forum in the world and all the comments are very fair, regardless of skaters' and users' nationality, people here judge and post their opinions as per the skaters skate)))

I used to like Makarova very much. She was strong, nice, elegant, but I think it was wrong for her to change a coach. I agree, she was a mess this season! I do want Polinas go to the Worlds! It may be their last chance sa Lisa and Adelina will be eligible next year

Her new team tried to rework her jump technique and I think it was a big mistake. Her jumps never were very good, but at least she could land and rotate them. I think Makarova had her chances and is unlikely to show decent result at Worlds, it's time to give Polina S a chance. Polina K, IMO, will be competitive even with Adelina and Liza next year, and should easily beat Leonova and Makarova if she continues to do well, she got her jums this season and now has the whole package. Polina S will always be behind her teammates in PCS, even though she has improved a lot, but she is a good technician and deserves her chance

Polina K's last chance ?
I don't think so, in fact in the long run, she could be one if not the most successful of all the russian junior ladies
she has all the 3-3 jumps and expressive girl who has survived puberty. Polina K just needs more consistency
for Shelpen she will always get low PCS unless she improves her artistry , Shelepen reminds me of Miki Ando

Well, just saying, but Miki Ando is twice a world champion.

What Shelepen needs to do is learn to ace the short program, more than she needs artistry.

Last year she only rotated the toe on her 3Lz+3T once, every other time it was at least under-rotated and often two footed. Her 3Lz+3R has been more consistent overall plus its incredibly awesome :biggrin:
