Kamila Valieva: Anti-doping Case and Follow-ups

You make it sound like she's on meth or something rather than finding trace amounts of a banned drug that apparently is of no use in figure skating (not an expert) plus whatever happened to "innocent until proven guilty" or is that another dead phrase like "freedom of speech" "freedom of the press" etc. With that I bow out of the thread have fun everyone.
If you're aware that you're not an expert, please refrain from making comments about the drug then OR use literally Google to educate yourself. TMZ is a metabolic modulator and affects how you heart uses oxygen. It can improve your endurance, making you able to practice for 12 hours a day doing difficult jumps. That's why it's banned

Also, FYI, she is already guilty. her urine sample was already positive for a banned substance which is also known as DOPING. What you're trying to sell now is innocent despite proven guilty.

Testing positive doesn't mean she is guilty of anything.
She can be cleared completely after the investigation.

I was thinking earlier, WHY didn't RusFed let Anna or Sasha do the LP???!!!??? If either did and won the FP, what effect would that have had on the team score, if Kamila's score/placement for the SP had to be vacated? Would they still have won the gold medal anyway? I think RusFed messed up by giving Kamila both programs. Depending on how you calculate it by vacating her scores, right now team ROC could still get the bronze medal. But what if it was only Kamila's SP that was lost? RusFed really took a risk/gamble, and it backfired.
Rusfed did a terrible job protecting Valieva and Russian sports - these guys have to go. But it has nothing to do with LP. There were quarrels about which event to split - another blow to the FED as a bunch of weak people who have no authority.

The thing is that they had no idea about Kamila's positive results. And because they are too old and lazy the bell did not ring: "it's 40 days since Rusnats and there are still no results of the drug test".

You need to let go of that victim mentality. If people break the rules they need to be held accountable. It's a very simple concept. Anything else is corruption.
Rules? The rules say that Valieva is free to compete at the Olympics. Somehow many people disagree and don't respect such rules.
You have no idea if she broke the rules or not. As i said she can be cleared completely.

Protected person or not, anyone who still believes the ingestion of TMZ along with TWO other heart medications is accidental is just blind.

I can see no other reason then a doping system for this to occur.
yep. and there is no way Kamila is the only skater from TT with these drugs in their system, or even not from TT. i'd be very interested to know if Anna and Sasha's tests show the other 2 non banned drugs.

Why would we respect such rules when if it was another skater from another country (or a less popular and promising one) they would give zero consideration for their psychological well being and irreparable damages. As a famous example, they took away Andreea Răducan's medal for having a runny nose and taking one over the counter pill millions who have colds or the flu take daily, but when Valieva is found with heart medication that can actually make you train longer and give you a big advantage over time, then there's all sorts of concerns towards her psychological well being like the other skaters affected don't mean anything. Do they think we are so dumb as to believe they allowed her to skate because they are considerate in general when for others they impose penalties without even stopping for a second to think about possible scenarios, just is it on the list of banned substances or is it not. If it is, too bad, you don't get to compete or your medal is no longer yours. But not this time.

Valieva isn't going to get any medals at the Olympics until/unless she is cleared, simply reprimanded, or her suspension is short enough not to cover the Olympics. At the moment she's basically competing as a ghost, even her spot in the free skate doesn't count. The problem is not her but other skaters who are also not going to get their medals because of her.

So the long term solution seems to be

1. let anyone who fails a drug test keep competing and then just never have medal ceremonies, just send them out in the mail later after a nice sit down chat and a cup of tea with all relevant grandparents

2. it may be time to cut out the middle man and just have teenagers coached by their ailing grandfathers

3. considering the Youth Olympics has teenage competitors under and over 16 there may need to be new sub-categories to ensure the 'unprotected' have some protection

Seriously though, the only little positive in all of this is that it is blowing up at the Olympics which means the world is watching. Not a good look sure, but it just reinforces why we already have the farce of competitors under the banner of the ROC.

Kamila is definitely not the only skater who is on those two other medications (or rather supplements and not medications), they are pretty common.

Why not use non-banned drugs? Sorry but I can't see where the problem is. Or make them illegal first.

Instead of punishing everyone else why not just have a medal ceremony and if she medals, leave her spot on the podium unattended?
That would not solve anything, since by the CAS reasoning, that would be unreturnable (or whatever the word is) harm to her if she is cleaned, and it would even more controversial and extra attention to the case. Plus, if the results change, they would have to take away the medals of the original medalists, because they would move.
