Kamila Valieva

If yesterday I said I was totally speechless, what can I say now, after the FS? I think I'm still in a kind of trance... I was talking to myself all through the program though and after each beautifully executed jump and element I celebrated just like football fans do after a goal... :D And when she finished I was like, did it really happen, was it real what I just saw??? I was almost in disbelief of my own sanity, 'cause I thought it couldn't have happened, I was just probably dreaming and someone would wake me up instantly or I was having a vision... OK, I'll stop there, I think I've managed to give a sense of how very much happy I am for Kami and how very much I'm thankful to be able to witness (even if not in person) that historic FS in the history of women's figure skating. 🥰 Now it's time for rejoice of course, but not for too long, 'cause the most important competitions are still ahead of us. But if there's something to draw strength from for Kami, it's these two glorious skates at Rostelecom Cup. Go Kami! The world is yours! :)

Of course you had visions. Kamila’s venom leaves you dizzy.

Your post sums it up nicely! People might accuse you of hyperbole, but Kamila‘s skating is a living hyperbole.

Watched it 5 times already and it’s still not enough.

It’s scary how she makes it look so easy, It’s as scary as her pet snake that strikes fast and decisively. Like her skating.

A quad combo in the second half of the program that looked like it was done at half speed and as nonchalantly as possible. That‘s just rubbing salt in the bite wounds. Haha

And notice the difference at the start. That deer in the head lights look is gone now. Obviously, the snake chased the deer away a while ago. Haha

From now on, if I hear or read the h*ters' mantra about how Kami is not that extraordinary, 'cause she's bla-bla-bla, I will think of this photo and imagine it's her middle finger! (Sorry, it was just too tempting when I saw this photo!):biggrin::biggrin:

Unfortunately, it may get worse. The detractors I mean, not her finger. Haha

And why? Because she is actually great at her job.

Holy lord, just read something amazing: Kamila outscored all the men at the GP. And that‘s with all the scoring disadvantage the ladies have.

Do any of our experts know if this is the first time a lady outscored the men at a major event?

And for the record, she said she is happy where she is and doesn’t want to compete with men. Lucky men. Haha

I think Kamila even managed to shut skeptics up really soon. It took so much longer for Sasha and Anna to be accepted for their strengths instead of being constantly criticized. Anna and Sasha were viciously criticized and mocked for even attempting quads. People were writing that figure skating is dying because Sasha learned a 3A in 2019 :palmf: only now they suddenly see how great of an athlete Sasha is, and now they suddenly root for her (esp. because she left Tutberidze) and how attempting 5 quads is actually ridiculously difficult and amazing and not something horrible and disgusting. Same happened with Anna, how much unfair criticism she had to deal with before “critics” saw her for what she is, her performance and grit and character, which is something incredible. But it took 2-3 years for that to happen, and people valuing what these girls are offering, instead of bringing them down.

An amazing achievement from Kamila is that this is only her 3rd senior competition and those annoying skeptics and “critics” are already shutting up and admitting something we saw all along. Kamila is very special and she’s one of the best, if not the best skater in the whole world. I can only wish for her to stay healthy and keep doing what she does.
She shouldn’t pay attention to “critics”, who constantly only target these girls, she should keep doing what she does and winning their hearts over again and again.

Isn't it actually her middle finger?? The finger that has the loop on a long sleeve dress is traditionally the pointer and that one is down. No imagination needed.

She’s the supreme ruler. I don’t know who could beat her. I’m looking forward for the next nationals. I think Sofia with her same jumps difficulty and Sasha with her 5 quads could challenge her.
