Kamila Valieva

From a scared (but already beautiful) little girl to a strong and confident young woman 🥰

She's been extremely inconsistent and has truly struggled with jumps.

She's an impressive skater, I love her Varekai program.. And her joining the Eteri group (which has been confirmed, at least she's listed now as a part of the group at vk.com) has made me really happy, let's hope she will flourish under the new tutelage.. :hap10:
She will be 16 at Beijing olympics so I hope she will grow into a fine skater to go to the olympics. She reminds me of Alenka and Lipnitskaya mixed together

Just went to the beginning of the thread. @Azikin called it all very early on! She did flourish.

Well, from that angle it's apparently NOT her middle finger, so imagination IS needed...

wow, totally Diva at just 15! If I found this pic in a book I would say she's past 20.
please DON'T listen to haters. they're just seeing vanishing their Olympic dreams for their favourites. that gotta hurt.
besides, every great has haters, think of Yuna, Virtue and Moir, so Kamila has officially entered the Great category :D
the 3A in the short will be the key IMO. she was good enough to acquire the biggest weapon, something that her close rivals couldn't do.
the Bolero step sequence with the Avatar dress is magical

Enjoyed listening to their commentary. Even Tara for once !! Lol😂👏
A historic skate like that doesn’t need anyone talking over it though.

That‘s just my opinion. The best skate of all time doesn’t need anyone telling us how great it is. It’s obvious watching it.

It’s so awesome that you did’t even need to wait for the score to know that it was a record breaker.

And yes, some people will argue that it’s not the best skate ever, but good luck trying to take up that argument. Haha

Your wish is my command?

Kamila's world record breaking Bolero Free skate without commentary:

In general I agree, there's no need for people to talk over it, especially when it's this blatantly great. But I think we speak from the point of view of FS fans. I shared this with some of my friends who don't know anything about the sport beyond that they jump and spin etc. and for these people it can be helpful to have it explained to them in greater detail.

I do agree. However I only get the ISU stream and it's always interesting to hear what other commentators are saying. I don't mind commentators if they speak before and after the skate!! Alas they don't!!

Tara, Johnny & Terry commentary of Kamila's FS at Rostelecom (longer than the version posted on NBC's youtube)

They are the best announcing team in figure skating maybe in sports! ;) I love the analysis of KV's wonderful skate especially from Tara who was a world champion at 14 and Olympic champion at 15. She more than anyone knows what the KaMissile is going through.

I just hope Kamilas momentum and massive progress this season is not damaged by this break in the action without the GPF.

It's fun reading the comments section on YouTube after some of KV skates. People are in disbelief about what she is doing.
