Kamila Valieva

Kamila's friend Vanya who she did the music video with was at her test skates. He seems like her biggest fan. Who can blame him really?

On instagram his girlfriend has suddenly taken up figure skating again after 5 years.

Make of it what you will. I just like to stir the pot.

I knew something was going on with those two.

Succesful 4T from the warm-up:

It’s incredible how high she gets it’s the equivalent of a Petrosyan doing a quint.

She’s quite tall now for a skater and has matured early she has the body of a developed 20 year old woman.

She has broken all the stereotypes about Russian skaters who do quads.

This is what people wanted right. Female skaters with adult bodies succeeding not pre pubescent children?

thank God she's continued skating... what a blessing. I feel so darn lucky. Her interstellar made me cry. As someone on youtube said, she's legend. THANK YOU, KAMILA my heart is yours!
btw, she can still win in 2026, right? :) it would be so great!
There are a variety of obstacles for 2026 and the immediate future for this phenom. Just qualifying for the Olympics with only 3 spots for the Russian ladies will be insane for 2026. Can KV keep her interest up that long too? But it is hard to imagine anyone having more that at that point.

It is approaching the one year anniversary of Kamila scoring a total of 272.71 at the Rostelecom Cup. Who could have ever predicted what would happen to Kamila and Russian skating as a whole 12 months ago. Whatever happens in the future, this is one record that will not and can not be taken from her and will stand the test of time.

It's completely untouchable probably even 10 years from now. I thought skate Canada was her highest score but I guess not. What did she do in those 2 events it was the 3A in the SP and then a 3A and 2 quads in the lp?

It's depressing and my boggling to think what has happened to her and Russian skaters in the last 10 months. JV skates like a magnificent adult but she is certainly a minor age athlete. She relies on the adults around her. One thing I'm sure of is no one inside of Russia or outside of Russia has had this girls back. It's amazing to think that KV going through puberty and everything else can get her ultra jumps back.

That said I do wish she had changed teams in the off season. SA will be the favorite at TT soon enough for the next Olympic cycle. KV needs to be in a camp where she's numero uno baby. The figure skating world reveres and loves the professor Alexei Mishin. That's where I would have liked KV to have gone. Kamilas team is not exactly loved and revered. Mishin got to have a training camp in france before this season started but sasha couldn't even go to Sweden to teach a master class. That's what I mean by the professor's team is revered and loved. KV should look up to the Empress Liza and use her as her role model. It's important for Kamila to think she still has a bright future in figure skating. I just don't know if she has the people around her to help her the best off the ice. Look at all the girls younger than KV now. And this is what Zhenya had to deal with and Alina had to deal with and 3A had to deal with KV coming up. It's a wild and unpredictable cycle and I just hope KV survives it and has a very long career.

The only real error in her free skate was a 4T euler 2S instead of I presume a 3S. It is the free skate record score but she had room for improvement (the Russian championship score was higher though but it was perfect).

She must be the heaviest female skater in the world to land ultra c (in training and warm ups at the moment), and seems to be one of those really durable athletes that avoids injury or can skate around a minor injury. Most of the Tutberitze camp (and a lot of the Russian females in general) have battled injury this season or out of action indefinitely, but not Kamila despite having to adapt to being quite a bit taller and heavier than last season. I'm sure she'll grow a little more but probably gone through her biggest changes now. Even with drastic body changes she has maintained an athletic build. She's also been dealing with more pressure, more distractions, more stress than any athlete her age has ever dealt with. All the more harder to maintain form, but somehow she's done it.

KV should look up to the Empress Liza and use her as her role model.

Nobody should look up to Liza and use her as role model. All she have is one good season, after which she miss ALL opportunities which were freely available for her.
