Kazuki Tomono

It seems that the Doshisha pamphlet with Kazuki is being distributed in some rail stations in Osaka: https://twitter.com/mayumikobayshi/status/1401104833143136261
Looks really nice!

Speaking of Doshisha, there was an interview with his junior Sumitada Moriguchi in which he said the following (Google Translate)

'Is it thanks to Kazuki Tomono for going on to Doshisha University?
Moriguchi studies business at university. Regarding the reason for choosing Doshisha, "It seemed to be fun to see the practice and incarnation of seniors on SNS, and Keiichiro Sasahara (graduated in 2019) said" Doshisha Kiya ", Kazuki Tomono I was told "Doshisha Koyoya", and when I was invited by my favorite senior to choose, I became Doshisha, "smiles.'

Kazuki has announced he is now affiliated to Central Sports!

Central Sports press release (Google Translated):
https://company.central.co.jp/news/2021/4152/

Central Sports Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo, President: Seiji Goto) announces the affiliation of Kazuki Tomono, who is active on the world stage in figure skating.

Tomono started skating at the age of four and won the All Japan Junior Championships for the first time in 2016, and his ability has been attracting attention since he was a junior. From the 2017-2018 season, he participated in senior races and won 4th place in the All Japan Championship and 5th place in the World Championship, which greatly contributed to winning the "3" quota for the World Championship the following year. In the 2018-2019 season as well, in the 5th round of the Grand Prix series (Russian tournament), when he achieved the 3rd place, which is the first podium of the Grand Prix series, he received the result of the 4th place in the All Japan Championship and was held in February 2019. He was elected to represent Japan in the Continental Figure Skating Championships.

Since April 2017, I have been working at the skating rink of Naniwa Sports Center, which belongs to the Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences of Doshisha University and is entrusted with the operation by the Central Sports Group (Meiji Sports Plaza). We have been providing support as an athlete support contract since 2018, but in March 2021 we changed our affiliation to our company when we graduated from the university.

Central Sports has produced a total of 25 Olympians in swimming and gymnastics, but this is the first time that a figure skater belongs. Going forward, we will continue to contribute to the further development of Japanese sports culture by supporting the activities of Tomono, who fights on the world stage on behalf of Japan.

That's great news, congrats to Kazuki! :) So he doesn't return to Naniwa but practices at Central Sports' rink instead?

Naniwa rink belongs to Doshisha but is operated and managed by Central Sports! So there is no disruption, he stays where he is 😊

omg omg, Kirara! I got a reply to my fanmail from Kazuki today! 🤗 You know, the postcard that he sends his fans a couple of times a year. I've got to say I'm a big girl, older than Kazuki, but when I came home tonight and found this lurking in my mailbox, I stared for a moment, and then squealed, haha xD That's so sweet of him that he replies to fans even from overseas! I totally didn't expect that 😊

Ahhhhhh Surimi!!!!!! 🥰🥰🥰 I’m so happy for you!!! Is that some sort of reply to the letter you wrote months ago? When were we talking about that? Last summer/autumn?!

^ Thank you! I am one lucky fan  Yes, that must be a response to my letter from last summer. BTW, the one I got looked just like this one from Kirara's recent post (the photo is from Kazuki's graduation, isn't it?), but I had a message in English there as well 🤗 (very nice English, I must say, so we were right, he really speaks well!)

Kazuki sent a postcard to some of his fans, the picture is from his graduation ceremony I think. Cute!

Whoaaaaaa *squeals* 😆
I'm so happy for you, Surimi! Also I'm so, so impressed that Kazuki sent a postcard to a fan overseas!
Would you be able to post a photo, or share the message with us? I'm just curious now about what he wrote in English! (ETA: I assume the message isn't personal, if it is, please don't share!)

Thank you! I am unsure about sharing fanmail reply content online, eventhough it wasn't personal, so I'll PM it to you.

Thanks!

In the meantime, check out these cute fan arts:

I was reading something interesting: Because Kazuki now represents Central Sports, which is based in Tokyo, it's possible that he will now participate in Tokyo regionals and Eastern Sectionals, instead of Kinki and Western Sectionals. In other words, he could be facing Shun (and Yuma?) from the go, instead of Sota and Keiji. Do you guys think this would be better for him?

^ haha, love these two! It must have been fun to watch.

I second what Kirara said, I am not too thrilled about Kazuki's choice. I preferred other programs of his, and these two are warhorses. But that's not saying I won't cheer for him, or that he cannot achieve good results with these programs. But myself, I'll be looking forward to Bills the most

Kazuki will be at The Ice!
