Kazuki Tomono

I saw someone speculate that Kazuki is skating his new short program to Chaplin, but IDK, I wouldn't be too thrilled. Not that he cannot pull it off, but it's been beaten to death... Maybe if it was a modern remix...

Thank you @Arriba627 ! 🥰

I had a look into the songs and man... I think it's going to be a magnificent programme for Kazuki!
I know he's been wanting to do an uptempo SP for a long time, and I think now he has the skills to pull off jazz music - he did a great job in the jazzy bits of La La Land.

Ahhhh I'm so excited! :party2:

https://adivinesport.com/2022/05/18/2022-worlds-diary/ An article about Worlds 2022..I have met the writer at Worlds 2016...
"The three Japanese men–Shoma Uno, Yuma Kagiyama, and Kazuki Tomono–were a clear cut above in the short program. Each skated magnificently and scored over 100 points. Yuma Kagiyama’s “Smile” SP was very nice to watch, with his excellent skating skills and light touch on the ice. But Tomono’s brilliant program to Cinema Paradiso probably impressed me most; his effervescent quality as a performer is delightful."

Just loved what she had to say about Kazuki..

@kwanette , that was a great article by Claire. Thx for posting. I was there, and she really captured the essence of Worlds much better than I ever could have! The energy of the crowds at each event was amazing I would probably go even a step further and say that of the many live competitions I have attended, that may have been the best (overall) SP men's event I've seen. Shoma had one of the best (if not THE best) SP of his career and was so joyful. Kazuki's performance was soulful and heartfelt. Yuma's Smile really did make me smile, especially at the part where he clicks his skates together. LOL. I laughed when I saw elsewhere a comment about the SP press conference that started by saying "No, this was not JPN Nationals, it was Worlds." They really did JPN proud though and had a lot to be proud of. They were obviously the cream of the crop, and their small medals were much deserved...I can't wait to see what next season brings. I can really see Kazuki selling this new SP. I wonder if he'll debut it at one of the ice shows. The Japanese skaters are so fortunate with their many ice shows to be able to start getting "mileage" on their programs and testing them out with live audiences.

The press conference was great from start to finish..The man who was in charge was terrific...These Worlds were cleansing after the controversies at the Olympics..I was very happy for Shoma..to finally win a huge title...But..Kazuki has my heart..When I woke up on St. Patick's Day..I put up a little video of Kazuka at SC 2019..when he put on the Irish hat..a few minutes later over coffee..I saw that he was going to Worlds..and I posted "The Luck of the Irish..guess who is going to Worlds..?" My friends on Twitter know how much I love Kazuki..in actuality..I teared up..While I would have loved for him to make the podium..I was glad for Vincent who had been through so much..I can't wait for the shows to see Kazuki's new programs..Maybe he will get to go to SOI in Anaheim on Sat night to see his cast mates from SOI, Japan..Last time he was in USA he went w Sean Rabbitt, Marin and her brother..

I was at that competition, and that has to be one of my all-time favorite moments. I posted a little video clip of it that has since been deleted, but it was such a fun, lighthearted moment! I remembered I wrote something here at the time. "Kazuki putting on his St. Patrick's gift hat was one of the most fun moments of the competition. The audience absolutely loved it, and he looked so cute!" True confessions, I still keep hoping that some day he'll wear that hat again!!! 🎩 It's so fun and GREEN.
