Another day, another disappointment with JSF
So, they announced their Asian Winter Games team already (why so early), and they included their 'special group' + Tatsuya as an alternate, not Kazuki. Again, I mean no shade towards Tatsuya, but Kazuki outranks him in every measure: Nationals placement, world ranking, PB score and BV. So why?
Once again this is a reminder of what we can expect for Kazuki in the competitive stage - extreme underscoring + no opportunities. I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to make it so that Kazuki won't even have GP assignments next season.

Yuma and Shun are the main team, and then Sota, Kao and... Tatsuya are the alternates. Once again, I mean no shade to Tatsuya, but the way JSF has been trying to put him over Kazuki defies facts and logic.![]()

I think it's 7-12 at Worlds? In any case, his only guarantee of getting two assignments next season is getting a high SB now at GP France or Finlandia Trophy, but then there's the underscoring... That's a lot of pressure.I must say, I know that Shun Sato is far from being a pet, quite the opposite (and judges still fail to acknowledge his huge progression in Components, but I must say that it's more recent than Kazuki Tomono's), but this passes belief.
At least, if I remember correctly and if rules haven't changed since 2019, if Kazuki Tomono qualifies for Grand Prix Final, he's certain of getting two Grand Prix assignments next year, and if he places between 7th and 12th at the Grand Prix in qualifying points AND matches a minimum best score there, he gets the two Grand Prix assignments too. I'm really not sure, so I think it would really need checking.
That would be great but I daren't dream too much based in what they did to him last yearI feel your fury. No, there's no justification for their snubs, unless they intend to compensate by giving Kazuki a B event, and sending him as their third man to WC, where we all know he wouldn't be far from medals. I hope Kazuki places high enough this year to hold on to big assignments. Making the Nationals podium would be the best revenge.
You're right, it's at Worlds! So, in theory he could be at the Grand Prix Final and medal at 4CC; and even medal at All-Japan Nationals, and still not been granted two GP assignments, at least in theory... Practically I don't think they would dare in such a case, but indeed it's a dement pressure. World Ranking Top 24 and Top 24 season's scores are only optional...I think it's 7-12 at Worlds? LOL this made me chuckleTrigger warning: potentially offensive photographs:

I really love his clumsiness and range of expressions whilst trying to do the flower arrangement. We can see he is a guy at the end of the dayI also hadn't appreciated he got so close to the fans! Sooooo jealous
Here's part 2!
Nam was upside down.Hey does anyone know the story behind this. I was looking at some older clips of Kazuki on Instagram last night and I saw a video of him in the greenroom during the Four Continents Championships 2020 with Keegan and they had this one guy upside-down tickling him. Well Keegan was but it looked like Kazuki was just teasing with his fingers. It was so funny! The look on Kazuki's face and the way he wiggled his fingers!
But is there more to the story?Nam was upside down.
I also wonder about that. I guess I'll know after Finlandia - that is, if I go in the end (a family matter may yet prevent me from going, hopefully all turns out well), and if I get close enough to Kazuki during the SP training day to say something to him.Has anyone met Kazuki in person before? If so, what was it like? I imagine sometimes what it would be like to meet him if having the chance.
I think Nam is quite a fun guy and they were doing all sorts of shenanigans in the green room during that competition (4CC 2020) - there is another video of Kazuki and Tomoki Hiwatashi on Nam's lap? Something like that. Basically, just boys having fun - and we know Kazuki is quite happy to participate in this occasionsBut is there more to the story?
