Kazuki Tomono

Sorry if the info has been provided or if someone asked before, but where can we watch the Sectionals SP tomorrow?

Don't know if the SP is going to be broadcast live anywhere but hopefully we can get a video later on.

But I read about the FS being aired live on Fuji TV on the 4th. Not sure if there is a way to watch the live online but again I guess we can wait for a video later.

Wish Kazuki the best of luck in this competition, here is the timeline for the programs

Nice skate from Kazuki in the SP today, he is currently in 2nd place after Daisuke Takahashi

Jumps: (4S 3Fot3T 3A)

Here are the protocols

Based on this tweet, seems Kazuki said that the main reasons for him to participate in the sectional despite being exempted is Dai participation as it is a very good experience to compete with him in this atmosphere and because he was disappointed after Skate Canada last week feeling that he is still immature and need to work hard. (I just used online translators, so this may not be very accurate)

I know Kazuki is probably feeling frustrated, but seriously there's absolutely no shame in being second to Daisuke Takahashi.
Besides, he gained 12pts in his overall score just a week after his assignment in Canada. That, in itself, is amazing.

I've done a compilation of his overall score progression this season so far:

Gensan Summer Cup: 190.56
Lombardia Trophy: 216.74
Kinki Regionals: 206.80
Skate Canada: 220.83
Western Sectionals: 233.00

Apart from the Kinki regionals, you can see a trend there ;)
Onwards and upwards! :hap10:

Congrats to Kazuki for landing that 4S2T compo for the first time this season in a competition

And for his new SB numbers although I am a bit sad these numbers won't be officially recognized specially the SP as it is actually the highest number he got ever in his career :(

I think it is normal to be frustrated since he is not satisfied with his performance not exactly about placing second or the order in general.

Based on his interviews after the competition, I think Kazuki is focusing more on the positives of his participation in this competition and the experience overall which is what he aimed for when he decided to compete.

Generally from the videos I saw, I think he looked really tired :( Hope he regains his energy and we get to see him having better results in the next GP

It would also be interesting to see him with Yuzu there although I think they might be a bit awkward at the beginning since they didn't have much interactions before :) But I think being in a competition with Yuzu in itself will be a good experience for him.

Fun fact: With his Western Regionals score he'd have placed 6th at Skate Canada, and 5th at GP Helsinki, ahead of Boyang.

That's a good point! I bet Kazuki will be like an excitable puppy around Yuzuru. Let's just pray Yuzuru isn't averse to puppies

BTW, Kazuki seems quite positive in his latest Instagram update: https://www.instagram.com/p/BpyDpzpBlVW/
He also posted an InstaStory implying his is already back to training, instead of resting... That boy... sigh

Excited to seem him with Yuzu. Wasn't it one of his aims to compete with him once he goes senior?
Keep on progressing Kazuki.

Yuzuru loves having a younger skater to take care of and almost pet (okay, sometimes not so 'almost'), I would love to see the two of them on the podium, it would be adorable :luv17:

This video from NHK last year is also really cute: he talks to the children picking up the presents! https://twitter.com/1227_capricorn/status/1061593330914455552?s=19

Incidentally, oh man, why wasn't Kazuki at NHK? He would have medalled with his Western Sectionals score. It seems JFed gave him the hardest assignments

I would have really loved to see him in NHK not only it might have been a bit easier competition (although I guess such comparisons are not very valid) but also because it was high chance to see him in Gala officially showing his Daft Punk Ex program which I love to the world
