Kazuki Tomono

He tweeted this a few minutes after the men's event, so at first I thought he was talking about Yuma but right, he doesn't mention anyone in particular, so it could be referred to the event in general. Who knows

Okay, then it must have been about Kagiyama. I didn't know the men's FS was taking place, as our TV schedule is a mess.

I've been on a break and not fully back yet but wanted to share this:

Kazuki's own show and skating lesson at his home rink Naniwa Sports Center on 23 Feb.
They say the event will be cancelled if Kazuki can't appear (or if the covid situation worsens), so it really sounds like it's a one-man show. I think it's super cool that he now has enough rep to do a show on his own/as the headliner.

ETA: thanks everyone for updating the thread. It's nice to know Kazuki has been watching the Olympics and supporting his friends from Team Japan.

Good to see you back, Kirara! 👋 You've been missed, but take as much time off as you need. (y)

I wish I could be a fly on the wall at Kazuki's gala and lesson! Fingers crossed that the situation is good enough for it to be held.

That would be so cool to take a figure skating lesson from him! I would gladly sign up for it but I don’t live in Japan. I want to dance on the ice like he does.

It seems there's been an inerview with Kazuki by Sports Osaka: https://sports.pref.osaka.jp/osaka_mirai_athlete/osaka_mirai_athlete_vol_5/
Interesting read with Google Translate! Kazuki talks of his former university life, his goals, how he thinks he's changed (says he's calmer now, good to hear that), and fun stuff like how he'd spend his ideal holiday. I think all who frequent this thread can guess the answer to the last one... ;)

According to fans that went to Kazuki's EX and Skating experience today, he performed Bills with 2 3A and a 'ballet jump' (not sure what that means 😅)

I couldn't find pics of the event itself, but nice to see the flowers and banners for him at this rink:

Here's the full report of yesterday's event, with pictures! I'm amazed that more than 400 people attended! His power 🤯

On Wednesday, February 23, an event for figure skating Kazuki Tomono was held at the Naniwa Ice Skating Rink in Osaka City.
Tomono is a member of Central Sports and is the third place in the Russian Cup in the figure skating Grand Prix series and the second place in the Four Continents Figure Skating Championships.
At the event, Tomono's exhibition (LunchMoney Lewis "Bills") was performed, and the venue was very excited.
Next, we held a special lesson for juniors and a special lesson for seniors.
Those who participated and the customers who watched the exhibition were impressed.
The total number of participants in the classroom was 140, and the number of visitors during the event was over 400, making it a hot event to blow away the cold.
Thank you, Tomono! !!

I think events like these can work in making more public interested in skating. Sounds like Kazuki did a great job ^ ^ I wonder if he was teaching the participants himself? Probably just for a few seconds each, since 100+ people is a big big number!

A "ballet jump" (バレージャンプ) in Japanese means doing a split jump (aka, the splits, Russian splits, etc.) ! So glad to see Kazuki getting tons of love and respect. 🥰

Wow I’m really impressed! I wonder what kind of job Kazuki will get when he is done skating competitively? I could totally see him being an instructor at a rink or multiple rinks giving classes to kids and adults. That would be so awesome taking lessons from him.
