It seems that he taught them himself (with a microphone), and Hiraike-sensei helped a bit too. From what I read, the students were split into advanced and beginners, and he spoke about things such as 'don't fight with the ice' and how to use the whole body, including the knees. It was funny reading some reports of people who attended, and felt their body sore the next day! Seems that Kazuki made them work hard 😄

Ohhh I see! That makes total sense, Kazuki does a split jump in Bills.

He performed "Bills", an exhibition performance of this season that expresses young office workers. He appeared on the ice with glasses on his shirt this day as well. After showing a triple axel (three and a half jumps) and a powerful step, he slipped with his jacket and bag, and ended up with the familiar finish of collapsing. The program that demonstrated his characteristic as an entertainer has been well received at overseas exhibitions such as this season's Grand Prix (GP) series and the Four Continents Championships. "Working in Tokyo" on that day seemed to be a satisfying result, and when he finished his performance, he smiled with a big smile. This ice show will be held at the Dydo Drinco Ice Arena until the 27th, with two performances a day.

haha, Kazuki obviously had a blast performing his gala among his own folk ^ ^ I wonder what newpaper or magazine he used this time!

Today is the last day of PIW - seems Kazuki has been performing a 'oversleeping' version of Bills: instead of reading something in the beginning, he pretends to be asleep and then wakes up in a hurry lol

The announcement was quite expected. Kao is the first alternate, and JSF is desperate to push the 'new generation agenda'.

That doesn't mean Kazuki's chances of going to Worlds are zero, though. We know Shoma has been dealing with an ankle injury this season - he might decide to take a leaf out of Yuzu's book and rest for now.

Furthermore, Kao himself is not particularly healthy. He's been dealing with injuries since 4CC, he said it was just a leg sprain but I suspect it was more serious than that from the way he was struggling with spins and wincing and grabbing his lower back.

I don't know, if I were Kazuki I'd keep in shape just in case...
 
I agree with you guys, but honestly, JSF never learns.

I say this with a heavy heart but it's possible that soon they won't have a new generation of men to promote. Kao, as well as Shun, is obviously being pushed to do too many quads, too soon. Other young quadsters, such as Tatsuya Tsuboi and Nozomi Yoshioka, are already plagued with injuries.

In the grand scheme of things, even if Kazuki isn't going to Worlds now, his long-term prospects are good. I'm grateful that he has been very sensible and careful with his training and layout. May he continue this way, and I'm sure his chance to be in the big stage will come again. 🙏
 
Just wanted to say "Hello" from the USA. I found this forum right before the Olympics..I am a huge Kazuki fan..have been since Milan, 2018. I love everything about his skating..his range, ability to skate to all kinds of music, his personality..and his adorableness. I, too, think #JSF made a mistake in not naming Kazuki as 1st alternate..While Kao might have placed above him at Japanese Champs, Kazuki bested Kao at 4 CC's by 17 points. I appreciate all of the pictures, art work and translations..TY very much..

I wish there was a video of it. Now I’m really curious to see that beginning part when he is pretending to be asleep. I wonder if he had to do something to keep from laughing or something.

What long term prospects does he have? The only thing I remember hearing was that he wanted to be even stronger next season.

Well, for starters, he's injury-free and healthy - unlike most of the top Japanese Men. He's been improving each season, finding consistency and building good momentum. I think if he wants to continue and try for the 2026 Winter Olympics, he will be in a good place to do so, physically and mentally. Can't really say the same about some of the younger skaters, who seem to be pushed too hard, too soon and already dealing with injuries 😞


In other news, seems that SOI had announced a list of Japanese participants, and Kazuki was included... But then they announced it was an error 😭
 
It's been confirmed, Kazuki will be at SOI, both Tokyo and Osaka! Yay!
