Kazuki Tomono

Very good indeed! I'm glad to know he is feeling positive about Nats, and interesting to know about his new training regimen, although as usual I worry he's doing too much...
It was also very interesting to read about his views on 'love', I wonder what kind of experiences he's had so far that made him think 'love is a one way street'.

non-no also launched a dedicated page with a link to all his articles, and they'll be releasing a Kazuki desk calendar in April 2024! Once again, Japanese fans are so lucky

Meanwhile, Daiichi Juken group posted this picture - Kazuki is the model for their new INOVE car

Hey did anyone else notice the ring on his finger? Kazuki doesn’t seem to wear rings much. He did for a fashion shoot but he is dressed so casually here.

As an adult competitive figure skater myself, in the future I plan to skate to one of the songs from Kazuki's programs in competition to honor him. I know I won't be able to do it justice, because I am not as good a skater as him. But I will put everything I have into it and hope it would make Kazuki proud. He is in my top 2 favorite figure skaters of all time and always will be. His expressiveness motivates me. I hope things go well for him too at Nationals. He has everything he needs to win.

He has the technical score minima for Worlds and of course Four Continents, but the assignments depend on Japan Skating Federation who has a set of rules, which I don't remember well. The winner of the All-Japan Nationals goes to Worlds, but for the two other spots, I think that the season best score matters, and other criteria? For Four Continents it's maybe less precise?
Anyway the Japanese Men field is very deep at the moment, so Kazuki Tomono can't be assured of a spot, either at Worlds or at Four Continents.

Japanese qualification for the events is weighted heavily towards Nationals and GP performance. The qualifications for singles for Worlds are as follows:

  • (1) The winner of the All-Japan Championships will be selected.
  • (2) One competitor will be selected from those who meet either of the following criteria, based on overall judgment.
    • A) The 2nd and 3rd place finishers of the All-Japan Championships
    • B) The top two finishers in the ISU Grand Prix Final
    • C) The top 3 best scorers of the ISU season at the end of the All-Japan Championships
  • The third/all three will be selected from those who meet any of the following criteria, including those selected in (1) and (2) above, based on an overall judgment,
    • The top 3 scorers of the ISU season at the end of the All-Japan Championships.
    • A) Athletes who fall under A), B), and C) of ② and were not selected in ②.
    • B) The top 3 ISU World Standings at the end of the All-Japan Championships
    • C) Top 3 in ISU Season World Ranking at the end of Japan National Championships
    • D) The top two highest overall scorers from the international competitions and the domestic competitions*1 designated by the ISU
    • D) The top 3 average scorers of the 2 competitions*2 with the highest total score
And for 4CC:

(1) Men's and Women's Single: Selection will be made based on a comprehensive evaluation of the candidates who meet one of the following criteria at the end of the All-Japan Championships.
A) 10th place or above in the All-Japan Championships
B) Top 6 in the ISU World Standings at the end of the All-Japan Championships
C) Top 6 in ISU Season World Ranking at the end of Japan National Championships
D) Top 6 ISU Season Best Scorers at the end of Japan National Championships
E) The highest two highest scoring athletes*1 in international competitions and domestic competitions*2 designated by the
Top 6 athletes with the highest average score of the two highest scoring competitions*2 at the international competitions and domestic competitions*1 designated by the Reinforcement Division prior to the All-Japan Championships

Thanks guys, I think @DizzyFrenchie is right and considering the current depth of the Japanese men field, we can't take either Worlds and/or 4CC assignments for Kazuki for granted. However, he can absolutely be selected depending on his performance at Nationals, so let's cross our fingers and start praying  :ghug:
Last season JSF sent completely different teams to Worlds and 4CC, and I hope they do the same again as it spreads out the assignments across the top men. We shall see.

Meanwhile, non-no published more info about Kazuki's calendar:

A special desk calendar featuring plenty of unreleased cuts from "Tomono no Monogatari." has been completed!
The theme is the same as Tomono's points when choosing items: simple but elegant, easy to use, and something that will make you look forward to everyday life. It has a simple and stylish design so that you can easily use it anywhere, such as at home or at work.

Each month is printed on both sides, so you can enjoy both the front and back sides. The surface has been selected to have a cut that is close to the face, so it will be the first thing you see no matter where you place it in your home. The back side has a practical design with a calendar as its main feature, making it very useful for managing daily schedules. In addition to holidays, Tomono's birthday and anniversaries are also included.

In addition, "Fashion advice" from Mr. Tomono is posted every month. Please share with Tomono the recommended outfits for the month, the items you want to incorporate, etc. and enjoy your everyday fashion. The calendar also includes cuts from projects that have not been released yet. Recommended not only for yourself but also as a gift.

Not clear yet whether it can be shipped internationally, but I'd say probably not 😢
What really gets me about all the Kazuki products is that they are all so cool, well-thought items! This calendar sounds fantastic 😭

The Osaka Prefectural Skating Federation Board of Directors announced yesterday that Kazuki and Nobu were chosen to represent Osaka again at the National Winter Sports Festival (aka Kokutai) in late January 2024. I hope they have a sub ready, because this competition overlaps with 4CC, so if Kazuki is assigned to 4CC, he will have to WD.

Meanwhile, Kazuki and other skaters will be featured on a TV series ahead of Nats: https://www.tvlife.jp/entame/641121?cn-reloaded=1

Fuji Television will be broadcasting the ``All Japan Figure Skating Championships 2023'', which will be held from December 21st (Thursday), in the golden zone for four consecutive nights. Prior to that, the support program ``Fly to All Japan Figures ~ From the ice with love'' (Fuji TV afternoon) is a collaboration between the tournament and the movie ``Fly to Saitama ~From Lake Biwa with love~'' (Fuji TV afternoon show). 11:40-50, etc.) will be broadcast for 5 consecutive days starting December 11th (Monday).

In the program, ``Fly to Saitama ~From Lake Biwa with Love~'', which is ``Flying'' and sweeping the movie world just like figure skating, will be shown in the same way as the movie, using the hometowns of the skaters participating in the All Japan competition as the starting point. Introducing each player with “diss” and “hometown love”. The story explores the appeal of the players from all over the country from a different angle, using the characters that appear in the movie.

The five players who will be introduced are Shoma Uno, Kazuki Tomono, Mao Shimada, Shun Sato, and Kaori Sakamoto. GACKT, who plays Rei Asami, who plays the lead role in the movie, and Fumi Nikaido, who plays Momomi Dannoura, make special appearances, and Norika Fujiwara, who plays the mayor of Kobe, provides the narration. It is truly a program filled with love that fully explores the ``Fly to Saitama'' world.

Finally, some gorgeous pics from Skate Canada!

But wait, what does it mean that it is open for reservations? How long could it be before it sells out? Will the money made from the calendars go to Kazuki?
1. It means you can order now, but it won't be delivered immediately. They say they will start shipping in mid-Feb, the calendar starts in April 2024 so hopefully everyone will have received it by then.

2. The deadline for orders is 14 January, but it can close earlier than that if it sells out.

3. Really hard to say, but I would assume he would get at least part of the profits? Since it includes not only the fashion shoots from non-no, but also fashion advice from him, it's clear he is directly involved in this project.

GUYS!!! The Kazuki desk calendar is now open for reservations and guess what... IT CAN BE BOUGHT AND SHIPPED INTERNATIONALLY!

Here's the link to buy it!

Now if all Kazuki stuff would ship internationally. He has so many fans outside of Japan that want it too. I know I asked this in the past, but I wonder how big his fan base is in Japan now? He is getting more recognized with Nonno, Sauna Bros, his sponsors…
