Kevin Aymoz

A lengthy interview with Kévin after Worlds, where, as always, he is honest and charming (he threw his first senior medal in the trash?) He talks about his relationship with Adam, his good skates in the USA, and...

he intends to keep skating after the Olympics:hap10:

How wonderful that Kevin didn't know Adam skated well until he saw him in the leaders chair. So exciting for both of them to know that secured the 3 spots.

This is a wonderful interview.

Great to hear he's bringing back Bolero - I loved that programme for him, and bought a ticket to Kaunas Euros specifically to see Kevin skate it - and then he didn't qualify for the free skate! I have my ticket for Sheffield Euros, so I hope that I'll get to see Kevin's Bolero in 2026!

To be accurate, they've made three spots possible; but to secure the third spot, another French skater must earn it at the Qualification event in Beijing.

I just hope that he'll wear a different costume!

By the way, his Bolero is mostly inspired by the Maurice Béjart choreograph:

Correct, but they already have 3 spots for Worlds. I think French Masters should be held beginning of September to select the best man to try to qualify. Luc, Samy, and Francoise must be training hard for next season.

I suppose indeed, that it's likely to be between Luc Economides and François Pitot, I wonder if they may be allowed to participate both in the qualification event. Anyway, I hope that both Kévin Aymoz and Adam Siao Him Fa will be in good health at Olympic Games, and I suppose that in any case, they're the most likely to participate in the Team Event if France can participate. I don't know in which discipline France is more likely to split between Short and Free. It may depend partly on how Laurence Fournier-Beaudry and Guillaume Cizeron fare in September, on the schedules of the Team Event and the Individual Event, and of the fitness of the latter for four programs in a rather short time?

thanks for posting this amazing video, @DizzyFrenchie - I absolutely loved it - Nicholas Le Riche is phenomenal. What a treat to watch this - such fantastic choreography.

No wonder Kevin was inspired. (And .....I wonder if Nicholas Le Riche has seen Kevin's stunning figure skating interpretation?)

I really don't know if Nicolas Le Riche saw Kévin Aymoz. I've heard that Ballet dancers are not allowed to skate during their schooling and professional career, because of the risk of injuries, but I also know that some Ballet dancers, and not the least, are interested in Figure Skating.

The article says the Bolero costume will be similar to his old Bolero costume.
I'm going to change the costume a bit. Not the structure, but maybe the stitching or fabric. I want a fresh take because wearing the same costume would feel like reliving the past. I love designing costumes with Astrae. If I could buy costumes all the time, I would (laughs)
