Kevin Aymoz

Silver for Kévin at Skate America! :hap10:

As far as I'm concerned, Kévin's free was the skate of the night. You could hardly hear the music at the end, the crowd was cheering so loud.

I am so happy for him

Congratulations to Kevin on his Silver. It's wonderful to see him start the season in good physical condition! I'm sure many who were at Skate America 2021 will remember his heartbreaking short there where he was injured (and probably shouldn't have even skated). So fun to see him come out with such amazing energy. Can't wait to see him again at his Finland GP.

I remember what happened in 2021 all too well, certainly one of the saddest things I have seen at a figure skating competition... :(

Yet even in the practice sessions back then, I was blown away by Kevin's artistic abilities! Seeing a JZ slide happening right in front of me was priceless... (It was the first time I had seen him live.)

I am so glad Kevin has kept on going! Bolero seems to be good for him. It has such power, such sensuality, such ferocity, and such a complete commitment to the choreography! I honestly could love this as much as the Sholero if Kevin keeps this up-- and I adored the Sholero! 😍

That's the kind of thing you don't forget. I felt sorry for Shoma, cos he was skating next. I'm sure that was unnerving and hard for him to see too. He was pacing back and forth like a cat! I was so glad Kevin withdrew from the free skate and got on the path to recovering from his injury. When I saw him dressed in shorts for the Vegas hot weather, smiling, and waiting for a bus with a few people, I knew he was doing ok!...Now if we can just get him to lose the red murderer gloves.

I may be in the minority, but I adore the red gloves🥊🥊

They fit Kévin's personality and they fit the program. Then again, I loved the sleeveless Gladiator and I don't even mind Deep V's. ;)

Yes, I have given up on that score. Traditionally I do not like mangloves, but so many men are wearing them, that my resistance is waning.

And if you are going to wear gloves, go big (red) or go home.
I heard that there is some significance to the red gloves and Bolero? I was trying to find the info online but didn't see anything. I was trying to unlock the mystery. I guess even red murderer gloves are better than black murderer gloves.

I think my mind must have immediately switched into "let's cheer for Shoma" mode after that happened, not sure how I forgot about that. I was sitting way on the other side of the arena, so I couldn't see Shoma immediately before his program started. But of course I remember the popped flip. 😅

But enough about Shoma! Even though the red murderer gloves are creepy (and remind me of Valieva's version...😬), I would say they fit perfectly with the spirit of Kevin's Bolero! Kevin is on the attack throughout the program, his intensity has been taken up a notch even when he is standing still. Kevin is clearly ready to fight and kill the judges in pursuit of PCS. Therefore, the red murderer gloves are perfect for this task. Not that I would support killing the judges, but...😂

I am very much looking forward to seeing Kevin perform at Worlds in Montreal in a few months (assuming he makes it there). I want to see him bring down the house like he did in Texas, that would be amazing.
I booked for the French Grand Prix, thinking that it would be certain that Kevin would be there. Sadly, I was thwarted! However, as a back up, I now have my ticket to Europeans booked! I would love to see Kevin on the podium, and really hope I get to see him skate like he did this weekend!

The Japanese description on the previous post from @Arriba627 is hilarious (and I hope I'm getting the sense of the onomatopoeia across here)!

"Season Trend Check:

✅ Presentation is important, not just jumps
✅ Going "Bwaaah!" in front of the judges
✅ Chest is out! Deep V
✅ Black see-through (costume)"
